Any amenities kit in economy overnight flight?
Does Emirates normally provide an amenities kit for overnight flights?
Took EK404 on the SIN-MEL leg (2300-0800) and was sorely disappointed - no hot towels, no welcome drink (ok so maybe I've been spoilt), but shockingly also no amenities kit. Even the drawer in the toilet was empty.
I thought this was an aberration, but on the return EK405 it was the same. Except for an flight attendent who went around taking instant photos of people with a flash, and waking me up, no thanks to the lack of an eye mask. In other situations it would have been a nice gesture, but I was already sleep deprived and irritatable.
Now I know should have just packed my own kit in my carry-on, but I've been spoiled silly by other premium (and even not-so-premium) airlines, and stopped doing so for a few years now. So I now need to know, (if) I fly Emirates again, whether I need to start reassembling my own amenities kit.

Welcome drink in Economy? Which airlines do that?
As for amenity kit, pretty sure you do don't get one in economy. For interest, which other airlines offer amenity kits in economy? I've never had one!

I remember receiving one on JNB-MRU, which is a mere four hours.

Actually, EK does hand out hot towels in Y. Had them recently on my JFK_DXB flight last month. And a small amenity kit containing toothbrush + paste, eye shades, socks, and the DND/ Wake me for meals stickers. Will check on my next flight and confirm if anything has changed.

Amenity kits in Y on EY, SQ that I can recall off the top off my head, although maybe not SQ any more.
The towels in Y are cloth not paper, just not as thick as the F and J ones. And the hotness - well, as they are made hot by pouring boiling water over them, it depends on how far away from the galley you are

I flew that sector last year but on a day flight, and IIRC wasn't offered an amenity kit (even though I was in F). I suspect it's possible they are provided on the o/night flight ..... others will no doubt confirm one way or the other.
Reading through the thread, I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm the only person who doesn't fret over whether these amenity kits are provided or not. If/when I am given them, I do take them home with me (usually unopened) ; but the simple fact is that for any travel involving either a) an overnight flight or b) an overnight stop of at my final destination, I would always have my own 'toiletry bag' tucked in my hand luggage as part of my standard kit. It takes up remarkably little space & weight, and that way I know I have my own preferred toothbrush and any other personal items that might be needed.
Do other travellers really find this such a big issue ......
