Emirates to Jet Airways separate tickets - through checked bags?

Hi

I'm flying from SEA to MAA on Emirates and then flying a domestic leg in India on Jet Airways. Wondering if Emirates will be able to through check my bags on to my final destination in India?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Even if they could it wouldn't help as all international arrivals to India must collect their bags and clear customs.

Should have been more specific as to what my goals were. Will be taking two bags with me, hoping that Emirates checking the bags through will help me sidestep Jet Airways' 1 bag with 15kg weight limit (Emirates is 2 checked in bags, 22kg each)

Like I said, there's no point because you need to collect them to clear customs and re-check them at the 9W check-in desk. being separate tickets the 9W limits would apply.
