50 hotels - 10,000 points
75 hotels - 1 free night anywhere
100 hotels - 1 free night anywhere

Got my 10k a few days ago. My 50 included all points stays, credit card free night stays and stays at Hyatts that are no longer part of Hyatt (e.g. Downtown Hotel LA).
Kinda sobering to see a large number of podunk stays (Fort Wayne, Greensboro) and such a small number of aspirational stays (sigh)

Also, considering I never got anything for 25 properties, consider me twice vexed.

No, they don't HAVE to do anything, but I don't HAVE to spend a ton of money staying at FIFTY different properties either...loyalty is a two way street. My main issue is that it USED to be a free night anywhere and now, isn't even a category 4 out 7? That is what irritates me.

So let's put aside the points/benefits earned while earning 50 (or 25) "unique stays"....
And I'll assume that for you, it's a potential disqualifier to get you to change your loyalty to another program ....
Which program are you gonna switch to ?
What does Hilton HHonors give at 25/50 "unique" stays ??
Marriott ?
Starwood ?
Others ?
I honestly don't know. While I doubt this one issue would personally cause me to switch, I am curious about what I' might be missing.
For now, instead of being upset and/or considering switching loyalty programs, I'm just gonna stick with Hyatt GP and be happy with the published benefits I get. Those benefits (IMHO) far outweigh what the other program provide.
For the record, as a multi-year Diamond with Hyatt GP, I did not get the (unpublished) promo of 50,000 (?) United MP Miles. Even though I was UA 1K at the time.
Was I disappointed ? Absolutely YES.
Was I angry ?? Why would I be ? GP never promised that bonus to me.
So I didn't jump loyalty over being bypassed for the UA targeted promo. And instead I (later on) got the free night for 50 unique stays.
So yea. Go ahead and get upset and/or switch loyalty over missing something that was never promised to you. I'm happy with enjoying my promised (better than other program's) benefits. And who knows, maybe your (and others with your opinion) leaving GP will increase my chances at being targeted for the next (unpublished) bonus promo
