28. What is the "pillow trick"?
a. (nsx) OK, this is not even an infrequently asked question, and it has nothing to do with the Mile High Club, but it's still useful information. If the bins are full or nearly full, you can sometimes fit your roller bag in endwise if you insert it wheels up. Then you stuff one or two pillows under the bag to lift the bag an inch or two above the sill. The door will now close without obstruction. When the bins are totally full, look for a similar bag to turn endwise to make room for yours. On the newest aircraft (-700's and higher) the bins are a tad deeper and will accommodate roller bags endwise without needing the pillow.
