Aloha First Class, Details Please
I have conducted a search using "Aloha First" and have found sketchy details, the Aloha website does not appear to offer any info on FC.
My family and I will flying ex YVR to OGG, approx 6 hours, we typically fly AC, however they use a pre-historic a/c on this route, which is very uncomfortable, even in J.
What are the seats like on Aloha, how is the leg room and seat width, are the meals tasty and filling, cabin service?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to fly from OAK to HNL in F several times a year. I would describe the experience as cozy and comfortable. AQ uses 737-700 aircraft. These are new planes and different from the interisland 737s. They are quieter and more comfortable. There are 3 rows in F in a 2-2 configuration. The seats are all leather and have foot rests. The seat pitch is not tremendous. I don't know what it is exactly but it feels like about 38". Service and food was always very good and we always had a menu for meals, but don't know if this is still the case. The FA's were always very nice and attentive. Hope this helps.

I agree with bayotter, I have flown AQ once from OAK-HNL in 1st. It gets a double thumbs up from me...

Also, the price is GREAT for 1st class.

Well, I like AQ First much. It was a nice carrier and the F/As were friendly.
Well AC used Boeing 767-300ER on this YVR-OGG flight... although the seats are outdated, they were still an international business class seats with pitch up to 55". AQ can never compete with its fleet of Boeing 737-700. F class was comfortable compared to other US domestic first class.
I think the highlight of AQ was the nice Hawaiian cocktails, nice meals (three course -- appetizer, entree (choice between two exotic choices), and ice-cream sundaes). Then you have the cookies and milk served prior to arrival. For AC, YVR-OGG will have the improved catering of an appetizer and choices of two main for dinner, and then cookie and ice-cream prior to arrival. But I like AQ food better... Alan Wong's catering is really good.
The best part is the F/As -- definitely more consistent than AC. AC has some good F/As, but there are a bunch of awful F/As. But AQ's F/As were mostly young and most importantly, they were proud of their state airline and the wonderful service that they were providing.
Except seats and lounge access, AQ is top notch and arriving at the AQ's interisland terminal was nice -- closer to baggage claims and more convenient.
I wrote a number of reports about AQ a year ago. I think you can still dig it up.
I had a copy of the trip report in my hard drive... if you can't find it in the trip report section, please email me at [email protected], and I will send you a copy!
