BRG: Vegas.com "Double the Difference" Guarantee. Vegas hotels under $10 per night.

In booking my recent Las Vegas vacations, I noticed that the Vegas.com Best Rate Guarantee is really a "Double the Difference' BRG. Up to $150 per booking. Unlike Hotwire's Double the Difference BRG, which is limited to $1000 per household, per year, no more than 1 claim per 6 weeks, Vegas.com does not seem to have any maximum number of claims allowed (other than the $150 cap per reservation).

Here is a link to the Vegas.com Double the Difference Best Rate Guarantee Terms and Conditions:
http://www.vegas.com/incl/q12003/inf...ate.html#terms

Here are some sample Double the Difference BRG's I found using Expedia today (you can use any U.S. based website for your claim per Vegas.com rules). Expedia, which normally has a 24-hour sale every Wednesday, appears to be having a 48-hour sale today (Wednesday).

I am using 8/26-8/28 as the sample dates (Search your own dates and match rates. It doesn't have to be 2 nights as I searched. Just don't exceed $150 per reservation in "Double the Difference' if you want to maximize your savings):

Orleans Hotel & Casino. Vegas.com: $50.00 per night. Expedia.com: $30.60 per night. Double the Difference: $38.80 per night.
Final cost $11.20 per night plus taxes/fees based on Vegas.com price.

Gold Coast Hotel & Casino. Vegas.com: $43.75 per night. Expedia.com: $26.40 per night.
Double the Difference: $34.70 per night
Final cost $9.05 per night plus taxes/fees based on Vegas.com price.

These two hotels also impose a $5 resort fee at the hotel. I was just at the Orleans last weekend. Also, $11.99 per day for high speed internet (wired or wireless). The Orleans has also finally installed (free) safes. I think they were the last major hotel in Las Vegas to install safes.

There were many other hotels that I did not list in which rooms were lower on Expedia vs. Vegas.com but these were the most extreme in difference for the sample dates I listed. Again, the match doesn't have to be with Expedia so the searching for the Double the Difference guarantee is nearly endless as long as it is a U.S. based website.

I was at the Orleans from June 29th - July 4th and even though it says they imposed a resort fee, and there were signs on every front desk counter about it, I was not charged the resort fee. I was at Sams Town (another Boyd Gaming property) a few days ago where they also had a resort fee, and I wasn't charged it there either. Maybe I'm some sort of list, or just got lucky twice

The safes definitely help.. i know Sams Town doesn't have them and it was a little annoying given how late they cleaned the rooms when I was there.

Thanks for posting the deal, I will make sure to add it to my list.

Do you know if Vegas.com will match rates that require a promotion code? IE Like a TravelZoo promotion that you enter a code, but is publicly available otherwise.

I was at the Orleans 7/1-7/5 and was charged a nightly $5 resort fee. My friend was as well. I would have done the Double the Difference but the $25 & $50 gas card promo + a coupon code I had for Expedia worked out better.

Good question about promo codes. Don't know the answer yet. I would certainly not try any slot club promo codes.

Silverton Lodge & Casino 1 Cent after BRG

Expedia is having a 48-hour sale at the Silverton Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas (it's just south of the airport. Adjacent to 1-15. About 5-10 minutes south of the south end of the main strip area) today, Thursday and Friday. Various rates - some lower than the one posted below - but all are 1/2 that of Vegas.com. I checked only July and August and most dates were good to invoke the Double the Difference including some weekend dates.

Example: August 25 + August 26 (2 nights). Vegas.com $68.99 per night. Expedia.com $34.50. Double the Difference $68.98. Final cost .01 per night plus taxes based on Vegas.com price.

Make sure you don't exceed $150 in "Double the Difference" per claim for whatever series of nights you may claim. For this two night stay, it would be $137.96. Total cost .02 + taxes. I don't know if Silverton has a resort fee but I know they charge for high speed. Hotel gets very good customer reviews. I was in the casino 2 weeks ago. It's small but they have a large construction project just underway (more rooms, larger casino, more restaurants, hotel garage).

This would've been super handy for a bunch of us who mileage ran together back in Jan and Feb.

Thanks always for your contributions, CalItalian. ^

Any experience on how quick they react?

I am a bit worried. If I try get them to adjust to a rate I find on Expedia and Expedia changes that rate during the next days, they might only honor the newer, higher rate.
In this case I wouldn't even be able to cancel the room anymore.

Has anyone relied on a sale from another website before?

Has anyone here used the guarantee successfully? Sometimes it's hard to find the exact same room with the exact same restrictions, etc.

Yes. Just submitted one today and had a response back in about 2 hours. Received an approval for my lower claim. I have done a few of Wyndham BRG so I thought it was easy to submit through vegas.com.

My submittal was for Palms Place. Tripres.com has a promotion today for 40% off studio suites - $99. (Sunday-Thursday for some July and August dates)Vegas.com rate is $179. Double the difference guarantee at vegas.com with max of $150. Net (after taxes) for the one night came to about $51. That is a fantastic price IMO.

Found a FREE 2-night stay BRG for Vegas.com. You might even make a couple of bucks off it even after the taxss and fees are applied.

Tripres.com has BOGO (Buy one, get one free) nights for the standard courtyard rooms (value rooms) at Palace Station for the month of September 2008. This includes weekends but does not include the tower rooms.

Here is an example.

Vegas.com 9/7 & 9/8 $34.98/$34.98 = $69.96 for two nights
TripRes.com 9/7 & 9/8 $32.00/FREE = $32.00 for two nights
Double the Difference = $75.92. You should make enough to pay your taxes and fees as long as you don't select the $9.95 cancellation waiver fee.

If you are doing it for weekend nights, remember the MAXIMUM claim is $150. You must book two nights to get this claim to work.

Yes I used it at the Orleans-the charge out and the refund actually both went through on my card the same day.
I'm about to use the deal again this week for another Vegas trip this time at the Flamingo

That $150 limit is killer! Palms Place seems to be 259/night on vegas.com, and 159/night on expedia -- and I want two nights! that would be unreal if it weren't for that 150 limit.

The $259 must be a weekend rate. If it is you are looking at $135 which would not be bad. (they take taxes to full rate - $259 plus taxes then deduct the $150) I thought that was one of the nicest places I have stayed in.

You could get around the two nights by booking separate nights and submitting a claim for each night. I did this for a three consecutive night stay. At check in I explained that I wasn't able to book at same time as to why I had separate reservations. I asked for same room and they accomodated.

Similar situation. Put in the BRG yesterday, got an email confirmation of its acceptance today. Not as good a deal as some of the ones on here, but a huge upgrade from the budget hotel I was initially looking at, at a final of cost of an additional $10.

Thanks to the OP and contributors to this thread! ^

I booked the Stratosphere for my parents. It was an upgrade from the options I was looking at as well, and the Strat seems to get some great reviews. I booked, submitted claim, and received refund within about 5 hours. ^

Thanks SO much, OP, this is a great deal. ^^^
