Air Canada 777/787 seating?
Does anyone know how AC will configure these aircraft?
I believe these are the standard Y configurations.
777 cabin width 231" 2+5+2=9 across
787 cabin width 226" 2+4+2=8 across (3+3+3=9 optional)
Here is an article that says most airlines are going for the higher density Y class cabin.

Dreamliner less dreamy than hoped
For airline passengers who were dreaming that theyd be getting roomier seats on Boeings new 787, the Dreamliner, dream on, reports Reuters. By a 2 to 1 margin, airlines are ordering the long-haul aircraft (expected to enter service in 2008) with nine seats across in economy, as opposed to the eight across configuration that has been touted by Boeing.
The result is an extra 21 seats on board, making them more economical for the airlines to operate. But passenger comfort is no such winner as it also results in seats the width of a standard 747 seat, 17 inches wide versus the 19 which an eight across configuration would have allowed.

The airline executives who approved the 2-5-2 seating configuration should be asked to eat the food that they cooked to sit in the middle seat of the middle 5-seater on a fully booked, 15 hours intercontinental flight!

I believe it is going to be 3-3-3 based on a conversation I had today with and AC employee who had a seating chart in hand that is being circulated internally to AC. There will be 2 cabins of J separated by a galley (24 and 18 seats)and 2 of Y, also separated by a galley. The rows in front of the galleys in Y will be 2-3-2.
