Does anyone believe in omens? The button for the DL forum disappeared from Firefox bookmarks toolbar, which I take as a sign of things to come:
  • NW will be the dominant merger partner, so kiss Delta goodbye.
  • Kiss SkyMiles goodbye and good riddance.
  • Kiss snacks good bye in Y.,
  • The DC9's should be flying until 2050.
  • Are 400 small CRJ's enough (now that they own Delta's), or should NW order more?
  • sLUT fares will be upgradeable forever.
  • Mikey1003 wouldn't go back to Delta, so Delta came to mikey1003.

Is there any other good news that I missed?

Help Wanted!!

Attention Lounge Newbies.

We need help filling open positions and invite you to look at openings below and apply for same. Or make up your own job title and apply using that.

Trust me, no one gets a free pass around here and we will appoint you to a grunt job if we get no response.

The recent newbies we have registered are 3TAL, magiciansampras and myefre who, technically, is not a newbie but it's been so long since we've heard from myefre the he reverts back to newbie status.

Anyone else who happens to be just lurking out there is also welcome to volunteer.

The Delta Forum Lounge™ is an equal opportunity employer.

And let's not go into comparisons with some of the lounges run by foreign airlines, many of which are far, far superior to any WorldClub.
I kidding a little bit but was really meaning that it is nice.

Dreaming that only 400 50-70 seaters will be enough? Or that the DC-9's will last past 2045?

If you don't appreciate my divinations, I guess I'll have to order up some chicken entrails for the next DO. Reading them worked well for the Romans.

In your case I think it's up to the Whimsy of Cholula.

Thank you all for your kind comments and good wishes. The year has been relatively calm (compared to, say, the summer of 2006 ). Still no president and both sides are at each others' throats. Idiots .

Will try to make it out to the States later in the year and will keep you all posted for sure.

BEY, I don't know how you can say that this year has been calm. Unfortunately, my cable network no longer gets CNN but Fox News has been telling me for the past few days that war along the northern border is almost inevitable as a result of the killing of Mughniyeh and that Israeli troops are on high alert all along the border and that all leaves have been cancelled.

Strangely, when I drive along it (as I did yesterday) I see none of this and the soldiers from my kibbutz apparently were not notified that their leaves were cancelled and are spending a happy weekend at home.

An interesting aside: The Jerusalem Post is now saying:

On Friday, a Lebanese security source told Reuters that Syrian security forces have arrested several Palestinians suspects in connection with the assassination of Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniyeh.
At the same time, it is reporting:

Syria also arrested non-Arab foreigners suspected of being involved in the assassination of Hizbullah terror chief Imad Mughniyeh this week, the Lebanese Al-Akhbar reported Saturday.

According to the report, senior Syrian government officials suspect that Western intelligence organizations were involved in the assassination.

And we all know how reliable and unbalanced Fox is.

Or maybe the Syrians were tired of him, and killed him knowing they could blame the Israelis and have an excuse to start trouble. Or maybe they killed someone else while hiding him even deeper, again having an excuse to start trouble. Since when is anything in the middle east as simple as it appears?

Extending a welcome to myefre???? And forgetting about the estimable colpuck, who in a short time has added substantial value to FT while sitting in the Penalty Box?? ^

I guess that our "Grand Poobah" has temporarily lost his mind welcoming myefre instead of sending him back where he belongs, wherever that may be. And not only that, thinking of giving him a job?? Do we have any latrines that need cleaning?
