US Airways miles expiring, how/when keep/reinstate them (merged)

Hello

I have 15000 miles expiring at the end of this year, and I don't plan on flying US Air anytime soon -- just wanted advice on the best / fastest way to extend the expiration date (they said any activity would do it).

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Transfer some Amex Membership Rewards points (if you have them).

Surprised no one suggested this yet:

Sign up one of your credit cards with idine (dividend miles dining), dine at one of the idine restaurants, and pay with that credit card.

It can be any credit card and you'll get something between 5 and 20 miles per dollar you spend.

You can remove your card from the program or switch it to another program after you've gotten the miles.

You could go to MilePoint.com and redeem a few miles for a magazine subscription. They have a lot for under 1000 miles, and its not that bad of deal considering you get a magazine subscription too.

If you have any starwood points, there are different transfer minimums depending on your status. For platinums, you can transfer out one starpoint at a time.

I recently earned 1000 Delta miles for three transfers of one starpoint each for a partner bonus offer.

The quickest and easiest way is to earn 1000 miles by going to US' website and sign up to receive E-Statements.

LOL, I posted this message 3 yrs ago and have run into the same problem again, any newer ideas?

I was going to just pay $65 for 1000 miles, that just sounds a bit excessive, that's all

Thanks

Dividend miles shopping

Order from Dividend miles shopping. Rawhides from Petco are 1.50 plus $7 for shipping. You will get 4x the dollar in miles. This would be activity.

I agree ... just go to the dividend miles mall:

http://www.skymall.com/usairwaysmilesmall/homepage.htm

And buy something. It could be super super cheap if you'd like.

How long does it take the dividend miles mall points to post?
I've also got a few miles that I don't want to lose.
