Arrow Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls (fmr Sheraton Fallsview) [Master Thread]

I made reservations to stay at the Hotel in July and I am already impressed with such service.
Firstly, I used my points to reserve 2 rooms the rooms and they sent me a brochure of the hotel soon after to confirm my reservation.
Last night, I redeemed a Free Friday for the stay and was told that this was not the same as the rooms that I had reserved earlier. However, the Starwoods reservations did put in a request to the Hotel for a possible upgrade (using Gold or points) if available. I was told this was only possible to confirm 5 days prior to arrival.
This morning (9am!) Sandy from reservations calls me and informs me that she has upgraded my Free Friday me to the same room
type FOC/gratis.
I haven't even been to the hotel yet and with this kind of service from reservation I am expecting the smae from the rest of the Hotel.
And it's a Cat. 3 hotel - amazing.

By now they should have completed the addition to the hotel that will add a number of suites overlooking the head of the falls. If you're really lucky, you might get one of these.

You must, however, have the Sunday Brunch, esp. if you like dessert. You won't be disappointed.

This property has some of the friendliest staff in Niagara. I hope you have a good stay.

I concur heartily!

Very nice property indeed, and as an SPG Plat got a very nice UG to a Suite overlooking the falls with everything one might like!

Enjoy!

Would be interested in your comments after your stay in July, planning to be there in October, debated whether to stay at Fallsview or By The Falls, but based on past threads, Fallsview seems to have an edge. Hope it still holds true.

Keep in mind that the incline railway will not be operating in October. Without it it's a long treck down to Tablerock where the falls are. Sheraton On the Falls has quite a location, next to the casino, next to Clifto Hill and across the street from the falls (it's still a hike to Tablerock though).

We stayed here in April and it really is a great property. The manager and asst. manager (I think they are brothers) are very friendly, as is the whole staff. We checked in on Good Friday so we weren't upgraded then, but we were later in our stay. I recommend the place very highly.

Be sure to get a room facing the falls, it's quite spectacular.

My Oct. trip got accelerated and spend last weekend there. We got upgraded to a Fallsview suite, and the view was BREATHTAKING!!! Absolutely gorgeous.

Highly recommended!!

Stayed there too last weekend but did not get an upgrade to any suite as I used a free friday and also used points for additional nights. What's worse was that the Hotel did not seem to have any record of the transaction between that Sandy and myself. I had to wait 1.5 hrs before they agreed to check me into a room where I need not change from a "normal" Free Friday to a Queen Murphy room which I had used points for. (see my earlier message). They only agreed after I told them I would PAY for any upgrade and that they would cancel this cost when this Sandy (who was scheduled to come to work later that afternoon) confirmed what I had said. Well, I guess my expectations of good service stopped short at the Reservations desk. Anyway, they promised to call me back to let me know (which they did not) but since I was not charged anything I did not bother too. I had a great Fallsview room on the 3rd floor. Who's complaining?
I just wish the Reservations people at hotels don't make promises like that without anyfollow up.

My wife and I stayed at the Fallsview 2 weeks ago and were upgrade to a very nice room on the 20th floor. Fantastic view, comfortable room & nice hotel with friendly staff. The bar is only so-so without a view and feels like an afterthought.

Writing from room 1521 (Residence Suite) at the Fallsview right now. Booked the suite entirely on points for a family vacation, and we were NOT dissapointed. I echo all of the above comments. Was given 4pm checkout and Club Lounge Access as SPG Gold.

Also, Stanley's (the bar on the first floor) and the Club Lounge both have computers with printers and internet accessthat are complimentary.

William, if you read this, the entire staff at the Fallsview is excellent, but Adrian at the front desk (he was a trainee) was VERY helpful and accomidating, and should be highly praised for his excellent service.

Hi Markbach,

How were you able to book a suite with points? I was told that the highest upgrade I could get was to a Fallsview room with an additional 1250 points per night. That's what I did, and it was great, but I would rather have a suite.

Thanks.

Sheraton Fallsview - Niagara Falls

Thanks for everyones advice. After reading the posts we decided on this hotel. It has a wonderful location away from run down area and the construction of the new casinos. The hotel overlooks the falls. We had a room on the 20th floor. The beds were very comfortable with a down comforter and lots of pillows. There is a wonderful view of the falls while you wait for the elevator. The Club lounge has a 2 story view of the falls and has breakfast and evening snacks. We got a 4pm check out even though the hotel was almost full. If you are in Niagara Falls the Fallsview is an excellent choice.

I betcha you'd have liked the old Sheraton Brock, in a previous incarnation the General Brock...

We stayed there, walk-ins and way before SPG, for about 60USD/nt in 1985. I asked for a nice room with a view. The one we got was a corner suite with glass walls on two sides of the bedroom, a separate living room and a real balcony, all with spectacular views of the Falls. But the best thing about it was the little brass sign on the wall by the door indicating that this was the room Marilyn Monroe occupied the summer (1952?) she filmed "Niagara."

We are heading there next month along with our neighbors. I was able to reserve each of us a residencial suite. They sound very nice. Has anyone stayed in one of these before? We've been to the hotel before, but never stayed in a suite. The front-desk clerk said she wouldn't mind living full-time in one.

The presidential suite is the similar to the club lounge at the hotel. It is a 2 story suite with 2 story windows overlooking the falls. It has plenty of room and 2 bathrooms one with a jacuzzi tub. A wonderful way to travel. Enjoy!
