Wanted to report an excellent stay at this property this past Tuesday. Upgraded to a nice corner view room (suite) with balcony and jacuzzi overlooking the Falls.

Couldn't beat the rate: $69CAD($44USD)!!

Service at property was excellent! Offered platinum amenity choice without asking. In addition, room had box of maple syrup chocolates waiting.

Restaurant service and prices were good, but food mediocre.

For anyone visiting the Falls, location is right next door to casino. Walk to main overlook of Horseshoe (Canadian) falls is about 1 mile, while American Falls are perhaps 1/3 of a mile.

Parking is $10CAD. Casino was offering $5CAD valet parking. I parked in the casino remote lot for free and took the shuttle. This would be ok for anyone who does not have major luggage, as upon arriving at the casino you would have to walk through the casino parking garage to get to the hotel (5 minute walk).

All in all, a very pleasant experience!

I have stayed at this hotel five or six times this past quarter. I have always had an upgrade to a similar Jacuzzi/Falls view room.

Food is ok. I typically eat at the Japanese restaurant that is on the Upper Lobby level.

Also, Parking is 18 Valet.

I've stayed at the Sheraton Fallsview many times and really like it, but this time I booked the Sheraton On The Falls for Labor Day weekend and a couple of days on either side of it. They booked be in a Fallsview room with Jacuzzi (but not a corner suite, none were available). In your opinion which hotel is better (cost doesn't matter seeing it's points and Free Friday-Saturday).

I stayed at this property on 7/24/02. I was upgradeded to a corner room with in-room jacuzzi/fireplace. A few comments about this property...

-it's in a prime location to all the tourist attractions (falls, casino, etc...)
- There are two sets of elevators. One set services floors 1-12 and the other 12-20. The one that services 12-20 actually has access to all floors. The elevators at this property are really slow. Staying on the 20th floor, I often took the stairs down to the 14th floor to meet a fellow FT.
- The check-in desk was often understaffed. It took a good 20 minutes to check out.
- As a platinum, the platinum ammenities included the choice of 500 pts, $10 food/bev credit, or a free movie.
- Policies? As a platinum there was no waiver of the fee to use the health club.
- Late check out? Well initally I was given late checkout of 1 pm. Then a fellow FT (SPG Gold) was given a 4 pm check out so go figure. I asked again and the new agent apologized and gave me a 4 pm check out. (note: normal checkout time is 11 am).
- The windows at this property are tinted. However there is a window that does open in most of the rooms on the falls side. This allows you to get excellent pictures of the falls without having to worry about any reflection. For those interested this picture was from room 2057. The rooms that are on closest to xx57 offer better views of the American and Horseshoe (Canadian) Falls. The further you get away from xx57, your view of the falls tends to deterioriate.

All in all the service at this hotel was ok. While the service was ok, the view of the falls and it's prime location made up for the mediocre service.

Kluau and I stayed there a couple of weeks ago and were both very happy with it. Right in the middle of the busy section, which can be a bit hairy to drive in, but presumably you aren't driving much anyway. Access to the bridge is basically across the street, and the area has many bars, restos, and haunted houses. The Fallsview is way on the opposite side of the town, and seemed very removed from most of the action. It is billed as a conference hotel, which I can understand because it is a bit out of the thick of things. There is a Starbucks in the lobby, and one a few feet down at the something-or-another hotel next door. Views are great if you get on the Falls side. He had the jaccuzzi room, I didn't. But then I am a peon and he is the Man, so it was expected. Otherwise the rooms were identical, and afforded great views of the falls and the night time light shows.

All 6 of the most recent traveler reviews posted on Travelocity for this hotel are quite unfavorable. I'd appreciate any FT reports of recent stays (this summer or later) at this property. I've reserved a room there later this month on a breakfast included rate, but am wondering if I should cancel. Also, how do they treat SPG Golds re upgrade to fallsview room or otherwise?

I have stayed at this location numerous times over the last couple of years. I was there this past summer with the family. I have always been upgraded to a fallsview room, which has an incredible view of the falls. Great outdoor pool on the roof of the 7th floor(not that you will be using it this time of year), indoor pool is small and not worth the time. Make sure that your room is above the 14th floor since these floors are recent additions to the hotel. Great location next door to the casino.

I stayed there in August. The lobby is great. The basic rooms are good size, but the bathrooms are very small. My room had a fireplace in it that, although being fake, really seemed nice. The view was spectacular. At the time I had no status with SPG.

My parents, who don't travel much, absolutely loved this hotel. I would return here again especially considering all the shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Sheraton on the Falls: One recent stay after many at Sheraton Fallsview.

Good points - great view of both falls, next to casino and tourist stuff.

Bad points - Parking garage is not adjacent, not free, and traffic is terrible. That by itself decided me to never go back again.

Sheraton Fallsview: Five stays in last 2 years.

Good points - Great view of Canadian falls, nice rooms, free parking, no traffic, great management and staff, club floor.

Bad points - If I had to find one I would agree that the food is not the greatest but there are plenty of great eating places closeby.

Based on the input received here and elsewhere I have cancelled On the Falls room and booked Fallsview club room at a slightly lower rate.

Don't let the parking situation deter you. The Sheraton on the Falls is right in the middle of everything hence it's bound to be more crowded there. The way the streets are laid out don't help the situation. IIRC, they're single lane. The Sheraton Fallsview is quite a trek to the "tourist" area.

Just wondering if there are any more recent reviews? I'm looking to spend one night there on an upcoming Toronto trip (our first visit to Ontario). I haven't decided whether to pay cash or use points, but if we go the points route, Sheraton On The Falls is definitely more attractive given that it is a CAT. 2 as opposed to Fallsview's CAT 3.

I forgot to ask -- just how far is the parking? We will be driving and we're planning on visiting in July, so the traffic issue is of slight concern to us. How bad is it if we only plan to drive to and from the hotel for check-in and check-out? We're planning on walking or taking the people mover to sightsee.

We stayed at Sheraton on the Falls in September. I travel quite a bit for business so I've seen my share of hotels, however this was a family trip. We had a great stay there. Had a falls view room with lots of space.

This has been recently renovated I believe when Sheraton took it over.

Seems to be in a much better location than the other Sheraton, closer to casino and restaurants.

We used valet parking so I can't comment on how far the walk to the parking lots were, I don't think it was really all that far though.

Service was fine, didn't really request anything.

We plan to return this year again to this property.

I was actually surprised how pricy the restaurants in Niagara were. Chains like the Keg and Rain Forest Cafe seemed a bit higher there.

I just stayed there last week. I had planned on staying only one night, but given the room I was upgraded to and the rate I was paying, I extended it to 3 days.

I paid CAD$69 per night. (For those keeping score, that's about USD$8. ) I used self park for CAD$8/night as opposed to the valet at $19/night.

Parking is shared with the casino, which as best I can tell is attached to the Sheraton. There is no crossing streets, and it's a very short walk from the parkade elevator to the door of the Sheraton, perhaps 90 seconds tops.

I (as a Platinum) was upgraded to a HUGE corner suite, with a balcony and floor to ceiling glass on two sides, including the bathroom, directly overlooking the falls in one direction, and over a park and Clifton Hill (the touristy area) to the right.

The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub, and like I said, floor to ceiling glass. Don't worry, it's mirrored on the outside so you can't really see in. But sitting in the tub you can certainly look out the windows and see the falls. The bathroom also had two sinks and a TV and phone.

Service at the desk was exceptional. However I didn't really use any of the other hotel facilities, so I can't comment. (I was just to busy being a tourist elsewhere.)

As for location, forget the people mover. You are right in the middle of everything! The casino is right next door, your at the bottom of Clifton Hill where all the restaurants, clubs, amusements, etc all are, and it's a short 1 block walk to the boulevard where you're looking over the cliffs at the falls. You just can't get any closer.

On my semi-formal rating of preffered hotels, it's one of two that have rated a 5 on my 1-4 scale. And I'm not joking.
