Porter is an excellent airline and being able to fly into downtown Toronto instead of having to get into the city all the way from Pearson is a big advantage. If true, this is very good news.

I’ve been a fan of the Delta & WestJet partnership, and particularly liked it when WestJet still had a relevant (at least to me) network in eastern Canada. Getting from New York to Ottawa on Delta/WestJet is essentially impossible now.
I would like to see the WestJet partnership persist, but would also be grateful for more options to eastern Canada. If the WestJet relationship does end, I hope Delta increases its Calgary and Vancouver flying and resumes flights to Edmonton.

For a few years I traveled monthly between ATL and YXU and for some reason one-way fares were only 12,500 SM on WestJet connecting in YYZ which was a bargain. There were 4 economy seats allocated by WestJet on every flight and it was never considered a BE fare. For revenue it was always $300+ so it was a great use of SM.

YTZ is a hub for PD. Last time I flew through there they have a pseudo-lounge accessible to all passenger.
Also PD has been making moves recently, they announced last year they will serve a new passenger terminal at YHU which is closer to Downtown Montreal than YUL is, they have been developing the YOW market as AC forces most flights out of YOW through YYZ/YUL, and the recently created a partnership with TS (a leisure route airline serving Sun destinations and Europe) which makes sense for both as they don't compete with each other.
Sounds to me like the Deluce's have a nice plan and are finding growth where there is a void. Kudos.

Keep in mind Porter serves limited routes from downtown Toronto YTZ with DH8 aircraft - the jet aircraft that serve longer routes all leave from YYZ, jets are prohibited at YTZ.
