The Times reports that US aviation rules have been relaxed.

One of the first to take advantage was Cuddles, a two-foot miniature horse.

American Airlines staff decided against putting a nappy on the animal, a decision they regretted during the last few minutes of a two-hour flight from Boston to Chicago.

My bad. I guess that the WSJ article on this was posted in a later response to the monkey-in-the-cabin thread.

"PAX WAS TRAVELING WITH A MINIATURE SERVICE HORSE IN SEAT 3A. HORSE HAD A BOWEL MOVEMENT ON THE CARPET OF THE BULKHEAD. CABIN SVC HAD TO DO EXCESSIVE CLEANING IN ORDER FOR AIRCRAFT TO LEAVE FOR THE NEXT FLIGHT. STRONG ODOR ALSO HAD TO BE AIRED OUT.…ORD CSM JP INCUSCI"

Does this mean we won't be discussing massively overweight passengers for a while?

The best quote from the story was the blind man cleaned up most of the mess himself.

The horse had the bowel movement when we heard that AA was getting rid of "more room throughout coach."

First it was a irate cat in the cockpit and now a little horse with a big BM! And I can't take my 1/2 inch useless nail file attached to my nail clippers as they're a security threat? Airlines, airports becoming a 3-ring circus...

How quickly we forget!

Don't you remember the drama on AF Flight 1698? It was only a last-minute cave in by the French government and its agreeing to pay the terrorists $10 million which prevented the tragedy of them clipping the stewardesses' fingernails!

IIRC, there was also a report of US allowing a pig in passenger cabin (probably based on a misrepresentation as to size) several years ago.
