Fish and Chips near Gresham Hyde Park Hotel?
We have a reservation at the Gresham Hyde Park Hotel on Lancaster Gate. Can anyone provide any information about this hotel?
Also, can anyone recommend any pubs with good food near this hotel?
Thanks.

I haven't tried this place myself, but it gets a pretty good write-up in Zagat's:
Geale's Fish Restaurant
Notting Hill Gate
2 Farmer St. (Notting Hill Gate)
London, W8
020-7727 7528
This "genuine", "no-frills" Notting Hill Gate seafooder "is to the point" with its "egalitarian atmosphere" and offerings of "genuine fish 'n' chips" made with "crunchy, fresh batter"; a few demurrers deride "dire" fare ("more like con-geales"), nevertheless the place gets "crowded" with "lots of regulars."

As for pubs, check out the Churchill on Kensington Church Street - again 5 mins walk from Notting Hill Gate Tube. Not only is it a great pub but it also serves fantastic Thai food.

There's a thread about Fish and Chips in the BA forum - I can't post a link as that part of FT is down right now (hence me poking around here!). However, my favourite is The Rock and Sole Plaice which is in Covent Garden (Earlham Street I think, but check!). It's worth a short tube ride from Hyde Park!
