Renaissance Munich - Best Room Choices
I'll be in Munich for 6 nights in March at the Renaissance Munich Hotel. Has anyone stayed in this Hotel lately and can provide some advice on type and location of room (Currently have a Deluxe Queen Room).
Also, I got in on the Dinning Package Room Rate (4-Course Dinner Menu + Bottle of Wine; plus Breakfast). I believe this is every day during the stay. Has anyone sampled this rate before? How was the dinner menu; breakfast, etc?

I, too, will be in Munich for 5 nights in late March/early April. I currently hold a res at the Easter Special rate of E89 at the Marriott. If I need alternate dates, I can get the Renaiisance @ E82.
If prices are close to = , which hotel would everyone recommend?

I have stayed at the Renaissance but not the Marriott, but they are within a block of each other if I remember right. The Renaissance recognized my status and provided me with a huge suite.
There is a central square / garden that the hotel surrounds with a glass enclosed walk way to the restaurant from the reception area. The restaurant is at the "Back" of the hotel. The restaurant also has an entrance at the rear which opens up onto a nice market area. This back entrance is just a few feet from a subway stop and a block from the Airport Express Bus pickup..... Either you can select rooms that view the Garden or view out from the hotel to business district the hotel is in. In February, when I was there neither was particularily impressive.
The breakfast was very extensive. All hot items were available, traditional breakfast items eggs, ham, bacon, sausages, etc., plus cold breakfast cereals. While I was there an attendant was available to prepare hot eggs and pancakes for the guests. One of the better breakfasts that I have had in Germany.
The hotel's breakfast area was full of tour groups, most of the time from Japan. I did not eat dinner or lunch at the hotel so I cannot comment on those menus.

I am staying at the Renaiisance during my visit because I am getting Dinner included with my stay (Company gives me a flat rate for my stay - so I maximize the $$.
I would think that either would be a good choice - the one think I know about Marriott is that they are all pretty consistant.
Have a great trip!!

Prefer the Airport Bus.........
Its just so convenient and very handy to this area. Besides, I am fond of saving a Euro or two.........

Thanks

I've stayed at both the Munich Marriott and the Renaissance. I really like the Renaissance for the service and the breakfast, but it was previously a Ramada, and the rooms (at least some of them) do show the wear.
At the Mariott (two blocks down from the Renaissance), I was upgraded to a nice top-floor suite of rather unusual proportions (rooms not rectangular . . . except, of course, the bathroom) nicely appointed, great view. The bar area is a bit nicer, large TVs. Breakfast about the same as at the Renaissance.
Both places, staff were wonderful.
On the whole, I tend to stay at the Renaissance, but either is nice.

Fitness room and/or pool?
I have two relatively long trips (about 10 days each) to Munich planned for early next year, and I'm hoping people can comment on whether either Marriott property in Munich has fitness/excericse facilities or a pool, and if so, what they're like.
