2009 Update: Due to the downturn in the economy, Marriott has allegedly put out an memo downgrading and limiting what properties can do. It is highly unlikely that you will find any lounge open on the weekend, and also unlikely you will receive vouchers for breakfast. The few properties that have attempted to "over acheive" and do more, appear to be slapped down by corporate.

With those actions by Marriott, the information in this thread became instantly outdated. While this thread will stick around in the deep recesses of FlyerTalk, It has been retired from "sticky-dom"

Seems of late that my decision between two hotels in close proximity has come down to the lounge being open on the weekend (or knowing that they comp breakfast on the weekend for golds/plats). Thought it my be helpful to compile a list of those that are or are not open...would you contribute from your experience?

A poster above stated San Antonio Rivercenter was closed on weekends. It was open last month, over the weekend, because hotel "was busy"...this according to lounge staff.

I was that poster. Yes, on occasion, they will be open if very busy -- specifically, the management sometimes offers large groups/conventions weekend lounge openings as a perk. I listed it as "not open on weekends" since they are _usually_ not open on weekends, and someone shouldn't rely on them being open when making plans. Based on > 150 nights stayed there in 2004 (and a similar number in 2003), I can attest that the lounge is open on only a handful of weekends in a typical year.

What floor is the lounge on? I guess that I must have missed it during my five stays. Did get a très bon breakfast buffet every day.

For the sake of brevity and consistency, wouldn't it be easier just to post the hotels where the lounge is OPEN? I hope that a mod or maybe the OP will periodically summarize the posts into a list and make this thread sticky.
