About the "big easy chairs", there are a few places where they are at -- at least two. If you go by the British Airways lounge and then walk down toward the "corridor" that seems to go away from the main lounge area into a rather boring area, that's where you can find a bunch of such lounge chaisses. It's on the way between the British Airways lounge and the Mercure Hotel area where the pay-showers are located.

(I don't know where the free showers are at AMS.)

Well, we made it back from Cape Town and we used the showers at Lounge #41. What a trip! 18 days of pure heaven. We can not wait to go back!

Schiphol Airport provides a good interactive map, although it doesn't seem to work well with Firefox or Safari (works great in IE):

http://content.schiphol.nl/info/plat...rzieningen.htm

Click on things like "Showers" or "Relax chairs" to get answers to your questions.

You can also get a non-interactive PDF version of the map. It's pretty cluttered, but should work with most web browsers and it's printable:

They also have a PDF showing the locations of the various airline lounges:

Easiest way to describe is to go along the concourse until you see the Casino and Mercure Hotel, and then go upstairs to the upper level. This is near where the KLM and BA lounges are, and if you walk around a bit you'll see a couple areas with lounge chairs filled with weary travelers. There's a few bathrooms up here also, and its hard to describe which one has the showers because the area is so non-descript... but check them out. One of them (that looks like all the rests) actually has two small narrow shower stalls.

If you can find the lounge chairs in the darker area that occasionally is showing images on the wall, looking at the "screen" you should go right, and its the next bathroom in the center area you come across. There's no sign for the showers, and you won't know they exist until you go inside the bathroom and look to the right for the two doors.

Warm water, good pressure, clean... they are a blessing when needed! ^

Perfect......Thank you to all who responded. I did use the search method first, which did result in lots of other interesting info.

And what about towels, soap and shampoo? On your own in that regard?

As an aside, does anyone know where I can find a WAV file with the proper Dutch pronunciation of Schiphol? I'd like to be able to pronounce it right, since I go through there so often.

I do the same, but a little less than before once I realized that the AZ lounge at MXP actually are supplied with towels/toiletries if a lounge-entitled passenger asks. [I learned that the hard way. ]

I believe it's "SKIP-ull" (rhymes with "triple" or "ripple").

They are following through with the policy. When I presented the NW plat (Skyteam Elite plus) card alone, they wouldn't give me the shower key. When I presented the WC card alone, they still wouldn't give me the shower key.

When I flash BOTH my NW plat card AND Worldclub card, showers key was immediately made available to me.

Showers are located at two of the three clubs. The nicest one being the lounge 25.

Recently, I attempted to use the showers by showing my CO PLT Card and my CO PClub card and I was given a shower key. I do not know if the agent made a mistake or if CO elits and PClub holders now get access too but I was able to shower. The showers were nothing to write home about and those in DTW and EWR are much nicer.
