We currently are booked on an award at the Sheraton Laguna in June. I tried to search on reports of the new Le Meridian. Can anyone report on the Meridien property? its location and comparatively to the sheraton?

Le Meridien and Sheraton
Both hotels are great hotels, they got their own good points. But Sheraton nearer than Meridien, it only takes you 20 minutes from airport, but Meridien need at least 40 minutes. Tranport is the main problem for Meridien
(except you are a golfer, Meridien has a good golf course and package as well). For your information only Sheraton in Nusa Dua Area and Le Meridien in Tabanan. Nusa Dua has easier access to anywhere than Tabanan, but if you're talking about budget of course Le Meridien got much lower rates than Sheraton (and I think Le Meridien worth more than it cost)

I have stayed at both properties. I prefer Le Meridian to the Laguna. Although the Meridian is a pain to get to at Tanah Lot, if you are golfer it can not be beat. The rooms were fine and I have stayed in both a suite and a deluxe ocean view. If you are not a golfer you can avail yourself to the pool(kids can water slide) play tennis , borrow a bicycle etc. I also enjoyed the spa and did a half day mens package twice. They have free shuttle busses to Kuta and Ubud(about same distance to both). The laguna was also nice but I don't like the feeling of Nusa Dua compared to Tanah Lot or Jimbaran/or Sanur. I would definately recommend Le Meridian Tanah Lot (you can't beat the sunsets).

On my trip to Bali next month, I'm planning to stay at the Le Meridian and definitely plan on playing a few rounds of golf.
Does anyone know if they have clubs available for rent? I'm not uber-attached to mine and frankly prefer to not have to schlep them all the way across the Pacific and back since I have other stops as well.
(I'm tall enough to play with men's clubs, so having women's available isn't really an issue....)

They have Callaway X14 if I remember correctly for rent and regular steel shaft clubs as well. They have women's clubs as well.

Excellent! Thanks for the information. Less stuff to take, more room to shop.

Here is another question for those who have played this course....
Do they have a resident pro available for lessons? (I am competent to play 18 holes on my own, but like skiing, golf is one of those things where more instruction seems to always be beneficial....)
The Starwood site has almost no information and the stand-alone site for the course also doesn't specify (although I did see the club rental information there).
Also, do they maintain a driving range for separate practice? From the course map, it appears there is one between the 16th and 17th holes, but I cannot find separate rates for a bucket of balls.

Thanks for the links.
I've been to Bali before (and I'm a fan of the Sheraton) but the Nusa Dua environment is not what I'm looking for on this trip... and I'm also being somewhat "cheap" and not booking the Four Seasons or Aman properties.
Nothing in that Le Meridian link that alarms me frankly... but I'm sure if I am miserable after a night, I can always move. ^

(And thanks for the additional links to the Sheraton... as I mentioned, I've stayed there before but I'm sure they will be great for those who search Starwoods and Bali in the future!)

Had a great upgrade at this property. Great 90 sqm + room had a fantastic bath, which my wife enjoyed a lot. Had a view on the golf course, but personally that's what I enjoy as a view.
