Is there still a Visa Platinum for 20k miles?

I cannot find it using the search function. Is it still available? TIA.

ual.com does have the 17,500 mile offer with the first year free on the website. Not quite 20,000 miles, but IMHO a better deal if you can avoid the annual fee in lieu of 2,500 miles.

Still the best card around (especially for fee-ignoring 1Ks) is the Visa Platinum with 25,000 RDMs and 5,000 EQMs. I've saved the link for it here:

http://www.firstusa.com/cgi-bin/webc...cont&mkid=60FW

It's an old link, but still active. There's no mention of choices at all.

It is amazing how many different offers are out there.

A friend recently got a mailed offer for 15k bonus and no fee for first year for a UAL business card which she took. She wasn't happy to hear that there were offers with 1/3 more bonus miles out there on the net. Is the idea that the potential card holders who get mailed offers don't shop as much as net users or what?

As to the 25K bonus offer ($140 fee, not waived for most), its an okay deal, but I think I'd rather get a "free" card and 20K bonus. A judgment call.

Any 1Ks recently apply for this card even though you already had a platinum card? If so, was the annual fee waived for your second card? And did you get the 25k rdms and all the other benefits?

You can always apply for the Platinum Card and call to ask for the fee to be waived, if they say no cancel the card, I bet they will refund you. They did me.

Yes. I just received the 25k miles, and the 5k EQM's. The $140 fee was removed on the first statement. I now have 3 platinum cards, all came with the same bonuses.

The $140 was removed on all three cards or just one of the cards? Actually, getting 25K miles along with the 4K eqms are worth $140 imho. Hmmm. . . wonder if you can get ten cards, at 250K miles. . . for $1400 considering fares now from HNL to the east coast run around $1000. . . .

I just followed the link to apply. I am 1p so I guess I will be paying the $140 fee. But I think it's going to be worth it, given that I will hope to get 10K EQMs (5K signup plus spend at least 5K this year on UA tickets).

This card has a nice double bonus, "Double redeemable miles earned on everyday purchases applies to purchases made with your credit card at institutions classified by Visa as dining, groceries, gas at the pump, and home improvement."

Do any other cards (for other airlines) have a permanent double bonus like this for non-ticket purchases? I haven't seen it on AA, Delta or others (except for promo double bonus periods). Thanks.

Just signed up for it so it will be my second platinum card. I'll wait and see if I can get the fee waived and all the other benefits come my way.
