AS FC Upgrade waitlist with codeshare ticket?
I have a ticket that was issued on AA ticket stock thru AA for an AS flight. I did not see a button on the AS website to upgrade to first class like I do for most my flights. I called MVPG helpdesk and the lady said that because its issued on AA cardstock I can only be added to the waitlist 2hrs prior to departure. Is there any way I can get on the list earlier, like checkin 24hrs in advance at the airport? The flight I am on should be a busy one and I want to be as far up on the list as possible.

You should be able to get added to the waitlist once at the airport - but on long flights your chance of not having a MVP in front of you waiting for a comp upgrade is little to no chance, so pick a good coach seat
just as an example, I do sea-mia and sea-mco all the time and as Gold I have a hard time getting comp upgrades lots of times so I know there are a ton of MVP behind me that never do get the upgrade, meaning anyone with no status surely has never prob gotten one

When you say get added to the waitlist at the airport, is there a specific time I can be added? I would like to get on the list as early as possible.
The comp upgrade is what im banking on. I am an MVPG so lets hope I can get to the top of the waitlist
Btw- It is SJC-SEA flight, so not too long. I can manage 2hrs in coach, I have to do it every once in a while when I cannot get an upgrade. Thanks

ThanksBest of luck, I flew SJC-SEA probably 20 times last fall as MVPG and was about 40-50% for upgrades. Your upgrade chances will be much better if it is a midweek flight.

I had a NW coded AS flight once SFO-SEA. I tried to call beforehand and similarly had no luck.
I tracked the flight with LmOffice by Luiz Miranda as well as with the FC seatmap on AS website. On the night before the flight, there were two seats open.
I got to SFO about 2-3 hrs before the flight and the check-in agent swiftly upgraded me to F.

I recently did the use-up-credit-on-AA-to-buy-AS-ticket thing, on an AA/AS codeshare to BUR -- no dice on getting on the MVP Gold upgrade waitlist. I was able to call AS and get assigned an exit row aisle seat, but FC upgrade waitlisting was not something, I was told, was done for codeshares with AA, even for AS MVP Golds, if the ticket was purchased from AA.
No complaints here, as those are the rules. The fact I could get an exit row seat was nice, however.

Goodness I love how answers vary in call centers!
