Child's gummi bears confiscated at SFO -- would chapstick also be banned?
A friend's son's gummi bears were confiscated by airport security earlier today at SFO before their flight to London (I suppose they fit into the "gel" category of forbidden items ??
But they let her keep her non-prescription cough syrup.
Meanwhile I'm reading about people "smuggling" in banned items in their pockets.
I'm debating whether or not to dare and bring my chapstick (about the consistency of gummi bears) next week on a drying flight to FRA. Or are only lipsticks and not chapsticks allowed with the new eased liquid/gel security rules? Would it matter if the chapstick is flavored (more like gummi bears or food) or unflavored?

The TSA website now says that lip balm is permitted, but lip gels (specifically names Blistex and another brand) are still prohibited. My chapstick just stays in my pocket, and so far hasn't been found.
