The Mileage Plus Audit
Hey guys,
I am the OP who asked about the mileage plus audit I had received a while ago.
Unfortunately, I have not logged onto FT for a little while as I have been extremely busy working and re-moving across the country for school again. I just managed to read the responses from that board, and feel bad that I was not able to keep active in it.
Indeed the mentioned website was mine, and of course that is why my account was audited. Clearly, I no longer involve myself in the trade of the certificates -- which merited my audit.
United has still not un-audited my site however... They said that they sent me a letter, but of course they have an old address on file. I gave them a new address yesterday and they said that they are going to send a new letter to my new address. I wonder when my account will be freed up. Anyone else have some experience with getting audits removed?
By the way, I loved some of the comments made... The one about my business' growth description actually being a glitzed up paragraph about getting a hold of a second hand van, etc etc.
Regards,
Alex

Uhh, UA discovered your upgrade selling website and now you're wondering how long it will take them to unlock your account?
My guess is never, buddy.

Yea, my guess is no unlock of the account, or unlocked with a large mileage penalty (60-80% of your miles burned).

In all honesty, I think that would be a dumb move...
If they refused to unlock my account, I would bring ALL business elsewhere.
I fly about 60k miles/year right now and that is only bound to increase.
My father flies well over 100k per year (full fare first class), and I can easily get him to move to AA.
The violation that got my account placed on audit is something I no longer participate in. Regardless, I sent a lot of business over to United; trevelers who had elite status on other airlines who now fly united frequently.
I feel I may have to write them a letter...

Let's see....you blatanly break their rules by selling upgrades and they catch you and audit your account. You are then going to write them a letter and threaten future business bc you fly 60k miles and daddy flies over 100k? I would be interested to hear their reaction to your letter...
