Old Delta FF Miles

Hope this is Delta forum. Posted this elsewhere before finding this. Sorry about the double post but what are the differences in the old Delta FF miles vs new Skymiles other than old ones never expire.

If you do a search on the DL Forum you will find a number of links to this topic.

Old Miles only work at Old Reward Level if you are at Medallion Level when you redeem them...

Just got 2 FC seats to Aruba for 25K each

Oh heck, something else I need to deal with. I have 166,000 old miles. My gold status turns to pumpkin on Feb. 29 (something about the 12,000 miles I flew on them last year, after The Changes). I have the helpful old award chart that someone helpfully posted and I've searched the forum.

Two questions:
(1) what's the best value award I can get with that many miles?
(2) is there an old chart for partners too, or just DL itself?

Appreciate any advice, or links to threads I might have missed.

Some of the best values from the old fF program are:

1) Two FC tickets to hawaii for 75K (now 75K each) or two coach seats for 50K (will be 70K)

and

2) One FC ticket to NA including Aruba, etc. for just 25K (now 60K)

Don't forget you can always have a stopover or an open jaw on delta awards - increases their value IMHO.

I agree with Delta3MM that 75,000 (FF) miles for 2 FC to Hawaii is a great deal. Somewhat off topic, but once there, I'd head for the Volcano area of The Big Island (fly into Hilo, not Kona) or Kauai.

*sigh*

Since all the current Delta posters can't be bothered this is the link to the old award chart - link to Medallion only awards is on the first page.

But we're not supposed to post here any more... sheesh.

Lovely GG,

Who said you are not supposed to post here any more? That is a crime.

With a deal like that, you wouldn't stay single long.

I am a recent newcomer to DL but have lots of old miles. I have looked carefully at the fare class chart found at
http://www.dataton.net/DeltaFareClasses.html

It appears from this chart that the award class for BE international is designated as O, but I cannot find any O lisitng in my class availability program.

Since the page is a few years old, has this changed, and would it be the same if you are using old miles or skymiles? Is there any way to search for award BE seats to Europe without calling Delta? I cannot find any recent discussions of these subjects.

US to Eur upgrade from M class, MY is 30k RT, this will soon be 50k Sky M

2 BE to Europe, M4 is 140k

Note that domestic includes the Caribbean ie it is better than SM domestic.

Do the two-ticket awards require that two people travel together? I just assumed that one person could ticket two trips for himself. Is that not true?

I do have a question concerning old DL FF miles. If I was not a Medallion Member under the olf FF program, but today I am a GM, would I be able to claim an old DL FF Medallion award?
