Las Vegas (Skylofts, Bellagio PH or Wynn Parlor)

Hi guys. Headed to Vegas for 2 days next week. I'm going to stay 1 night at the skylofts at mgm and have a reservation in a bellagio ph for night 2. Wondering if i should move to wynn or stay night 2 at skylofts as well. Feedback? I want the room to be super nice and am cool any thing less than 1K per night. Please give me your top recomendations...

thanks

1K doesn't buy much at the Wynn. Certainly not any of the nice suites. So stay with what you have.

IIRC >

Skylofts
1BR $600
2BR $1200
3BR $6500
(upgrade between them with AMEX FHR)

Wynn
Salon Suite (top suite) $600 (price dropped, not bad..)
1BR Villa $1200
2BR Pool Villa $2400

Bellagio
"Penthouse Suite" = $800+ terrible value comparatively
2BR Villa ?
3BR Villa $6000

id say drop the Bellagio stay. id personally go with skylofts > salon even though price might be the same.

Stayed at the Skyloft for my birthday last year - its out of this world.
Pros
butler
stretched Maybach airport
duplex and loads of technology in the room
guaranteed view - top 2 floors of the MGM Grand - although not always a strip view
infinity bath
you get treated as a high roller - priority booking and seating for shows
Private lift to top floor

Cons
MGM Grand is just big
No private facilities

Stayed at the Wynn Palour Suite in this Sep - love the place
Pros
Nice new modern rooms
50 inch plasma HD tv (but do you really much watch tv in LV?)
Private pool area, restaurant and loung for tower suites
The casino area at the Wynn is smaller that other LV strip hotels
I like the Wynn as it has a "smaller" hotel feel even though it is large
You can walk into the Tower Suite area from outside and avoid the casino
Your own personal massage room in the Salon Suite

Cons
No airport transfer
Salon Suites start from as low as the 5th floor so no guarantee of great view
Higher minimum table stake for the novice/fun gambler
No airport transfer

Bellagios PH suite
Pros
Airport transfer included
Great high-end restuarants - better selection than the Wynn (marginally)
Great pools area but public
Con
Traditional suite - not really updated much for technology
Massive casino area

I would go for either 2 nights at the Skyloft (especially if you leave one night to see Ka and another night to see another show at the MGM Grand) or 1 night Skyloft and 1 night Wynn and give Bellagios a miss. You can still go to Bellagios (I do) to eat and visit the Conservatory - there is a fantastic duck theme this year for Thanksgiving. Personally, for 2 nights, I would stick to one hotel and avoid wasting time moving hotel rooms during the day. More pool time or shopping time.

Salon Suites at the Wynn at $750 mid week which is cheaper than the Skyloft. Didnt realise you could book Villa at the Wynn. Thought they were comps only. I will keep that in mind. All Villas are on the 3 floor or ground floor so there is no great view of LV; except of the golf fairway which is a different kind of great view.

salon suites are now as low as $600, same as skylofts. i just looked at the website. very surprising, guess they had to drop to compete with skylofts.

skylofts only have private spa
wynn has, i believe, restaurant and pool for tower/villa
bellagio villas have no common areas
mansion has 7 common areas

the two things bellagio has going is the 3BR villa with pool for $6K vs 1BR villa (albeit with indoor pool and common areas) for $5K at mansion, and in general, it has the best atmosphere overall.

the wynn has redone some of the villas to make them like bellagio and mansion, and those are controlled by the casino. only difference is furnishings including fine art.

Thanks,

Nothing special really. A couple of sofas and a few armchairs aroud a couple of coffee table. There is a pianist every evening which is a bit sad as few guest ever sit on those sofas in the evening. Reception staff and security staff listen to the pianist. The restuarant guest would also be able to listen to the pianist but it is a bit distant.

It is mainly used by guest checkin in/out which one guest queues at the registration desk and the others in the party sit around a wait.

Any idea how I might go about making a booking for a villa at the Wynn. I do not see an option on the website? Do I just phone ?

Glad I choose skylofts

hi guys, just back from my trip to vegas.

Having choosen the skylofts, i can defnintely say that I'm happy with my choice. I used amex fhr to book the reservation. Got bumped up to a 2br that was incredible. Having stayed in the bel's ph, i can honestly say it doesn't come close to comparing! I'll never stay anywhere else on fun in vegas

Hey, I was thinking about booking a 1BR at the Skylofts, checking in on the Sunday before thanksgiving and checking out Friday after thanksgiving, for about 5 nights. If I book using the FHR program, what do you think my chances are of getting upgraded to the 2BR? I will have my wife and two young kids (6 and 3). The skyloft website says 3 is the max number of people for a 1 bedroom suite. Any ideas? Thanks

i would say you might have to just book the 2BR, Mon-Thurs, since the 1BR cannot accomodate 4 people. OTOH, maybe they will bend that for young kids? not sure what post Thanksgiving will be like in terms of occupancy either.

BTW Sunday prices (including for the 25th) are about double midweek (~ $1K / $2K)

On the topic of the Bellagio, does anyone know if they have renovated any of their suites recently? Everything in those rooms (compared to the newly renovated deluxe rooms) looked very tired and raggedy on my last visit.
