Maybe. In any case, someone seriously miscalculated.

Methodology

Is anyone here computer savvy enough to know how this works? What happens when you click the "submit" button? I realize the data gets submitted, but to who?

Does Emmi get the info and pass it along to AA? Does it go directly to AA?

Just curious.

Naah, we don't know that anyone miscalculated. After all, they had to BUY the miles from AA and PAY for them whether or not the coupons were redeemed. (Do I have this correct?)

If you are promoting a box of cereal because it has a whistle in it (to use a classic example), don't you want to sell out your stock?

I would guess they only pay if they actually have to post the miles to an account.

Of course they want to sell their stock. But at 500 miles for three bucks, there was probably a disconnect somewhere. One possibility is they may have assumed only a small percentage of their customers would be mileage junkies and that only a small percentage of coupons would therefore be redeemed. Maybe they never heard of Flyertalk or Pudding Guy

Entering the mileage codes?

So I have a question about inputting the codes. Has anyone used the back key on their browser and just entered a new code to avoid having to retype all of the other info.

Why would the Emmi website be different than any other?

I suppose you are right. I was just also nervous about clicking 'back' especially as I have a lot of these coupons to enter and I don't want anything to go wrong.

It certainly saves a lot of time. Although, I recommend Google Toolbar - it fills half of the stuff in for you: if only it would remember my AA number though

Firefox is definitely keeping a record of every code you enter. I have to find some geek who can explain to me how to download this when I am done.

By the way, Netscape 8.1, although a lousy browser, does indeed have form filling capabilities.
