So we have to do one of the three qualifying activities to even begin acquiring credits with partners? Seems like a hassle, though doable.

It seems that way. But I think you can just sign up for the email and that might count, at least that's what the page leads me to believe, could be wrong but I did it just in case and will call them later to check. It was very easy last year and lots of fun.

Thanks for posting this here, CozumelJan. I would have definitely missed this one. I alos appreciate that you CLEARLY posted the benefits/program in your header. (Still hurting that I missed the KLM matching offer worth over 700'000 miles in my case).

I don't read it that way at all. What then would be the purpose of having a Qualifying Activity? Let us know what you find out.

Note also that NW is now partnering with MCI.

CozumelJen,

I am not finding anything about signing up for an email. What am I missing?

From my reading, you must:
1. Register
2. Do one of four activities within the time period to qualify.
3. After qualifying, you must use partners five times within the time period.

DC_flyer, I read this as you must do one of the four activities to qualify plus you must do five partner activities during the timeframe to get the 10,000 miles (you don't have to do the qualifying activity first). The appealing thing to me is that one of the repeatable partner activites is Dining for Miles.

The way I see this, nothing you do before May 1 counts.

Between May 1 and July 31 you have to do one qualifying activity and use "Fly Free Faster" partners five times.

The WorldPerks Mall permits multiple credits per partner, so order socks from Lands' Ends five times and you're set.

I can just see it now ... if I have a flight difficulty in May or June I'll be begging US to reroute me on NW just to get a qualifying activity ....

This should be pretty easy except for the first qualifying activity!

I'm already an MCI customer and don't want to bother switching to another carrier then switching back to MCI, but I wonder if just switching my account to earn NW miles would count?

Thanks - I didn't see this on the NWA website earlier today. Doesn't sound too difficult to qualify.

Any idea whether the 10,000 count toward elite status?

Thanks for the post, BTW!
