AZ fare classes
AZ reworked their fare class descriptions on their website this fall. Economy class tickets are now listed as:
Promo
Easy (Facile)
Comfort (Comodo)
Freedom (Libera)
Elsewhere they post the info that:
Y,B,M, and H class tickets are upgradable with miles (25k one way TransATL)
Y and B fares earn double miles and double qualifier miles
However, there seems to be no way to tell the relation between Promo, Easy, etc. and Y,B, M, etc. I just spoke with a customer service rep, and she agreed that it is impossible to tell from the web site. As a Ulisse, I can book on-line and have 24 hours to cancel or change, so she said I'd have to either book on the phone or book on line and then call them to confirm my fare class. She said that Easy/Facile is upgradable and Comfort/Comodo might be (should be the other way around?)
But, I'd rather get it right the first time (and I want to book on-line for a number of reasons, off topic in this thread).
So- does anyone know the relation between the fare classes and the new class names? There is a link from the Italian AZ site that sounds like it might give this info, but the page won't load:

At least on the .co.uk and .com/US sites, you can get the fare class if you click on fare rules. On the upper right side, you'll see "BK-X" where X is the booking class.

For the dates I checked, Promo and Easy are both T fares
Comfort is a K fare, and Freedom is Y. So, according to that, it would seem only a Freedom fare is upgradable with miles (since the rules say only Y,B,M,H are upgradable that way). That is different from what the telephone agent told me.
On the page after you select "Buy", above the paragraph with the fare rules link, it sometimes states "For the same price travel in Business Easy". That is also a Y fare, but moves you up front without paying the 50k miles round trip. (however it adds restrictions on ticket changes). Business Freedom is the J fare.
I don't see B, M, or H shown any of these fares, at least on the dates I tried.

Has anyone investigated this any further in regards to intra-Europe flights? I wonder if any reasonable Y or B fares exist out there for AZ flights cross border that earn 1,200 miles minimum. I would imagine that a nice connecting roundtrip, say Nice-Milan-Geneva (or other similar connecting route) in Y or B if the fare was good would earn 4,800 base plus another 4,800 qualifying miles.

On the AZ MilleMiglia program, any cross border flights earn 1,200 minimum, not just Y or B fare. I was pleasantly surprised with that (I'd forgotten about it) when I got re-routed a week ago PSA-CDG-ORD instead of PSA-MXP-ORD, earned 1200 for PSA-CDG.

Just booked a discounted ticket on line, selected the "Promo" fare. The fare class button gave a popup window with a header but missing the fare class info. (this has been the case for a few days; the other levels show that info). When I got the confirmation it stated the fare class is "L".
Can anyone confirm that "L" class tickets earn miles? I have a note in my files that "L' does not earn miles, but I don't know where I ever got that info. The only thing I found on their site said "R" doesn't earn miles, it didn't mention "L".

if you book on AZ website, at least on the italian version, when you are presented the selected flights, you get the amount of miles you'll earn per every single leg booked.
If the fare doesn't eran miles, it just shows 0 miles on that leg
didn't you get that page?
cheers

**Miglia minime accumulabile, promozione e bonus esclusi. Alcune classi tariffarie non dano diritto all'accumulo di miglie.
So, it says that is the theoretical mileage I'll earn, but some fare classes don't earn those mile. I did reach the web support line and they said I do earn miles for an L fare, so I hope I'm fine with it.

Thanks, I'd missed that. It's also on the Italian site. You have to find the fare, click the red Buy/Acquista button, then at the bottom of the page click on the words Fare Rules/Regole Tariffarie. (this is before you confirm the purchase)

Y,B,M and H are the most expensive of coach fares; those are all upgradable with miles.
Here's a summary of what I've found:
First & Business Class J, C, D, I
Full Fare Economy Class Y
Economy Class B, M, H, K, V, T, Q, X, W
Discount Economy Class A, N, L, O S?
Per this page:

Only R doesn't earn miles
