2007 Mabodofu Nemawashi Master Thread

The table is set, the tea is poured, you now must decide if you will join the feast or run and hide. We gather under the Ma’s swollen belly and make the ceremonial march to Chin’s place to celebrate the impending arrival of the bear.

This thread will serve as a village notice board for all that are keen to try the delicacy known wide and far as Mabodofu. Each gathering shall have its own PNR so check this first post periodically for the next scheduled table. All comments, criticisms, kibitzing, and general discussion are welcome in this new, this improved, this, the Mabodofu master thread. Buuurrrp!

Next Table

Date: August 9, 2007 (a.k.a. "Hot and Sticky Summer Mabo")
Place: As ever...
Attendees: Pickles, kcvt750, mjm, and.....?

Count me in. We will (hopefully) be settled by then. At some point, I will even offer our hospitality as a host location.

My 2007 crystal ball says I'm in.

Plus, if we call it the "Mabodofu Jisatsu Mokuyoubi" we can shorten it to the MJM.

Actually, I have to come to Tokyo for an appointment on the 18th, though I won't be finished until later in the afternoon. If anyone's up for a late lunch, I may be able to meet then. I'd love to finally meet some of the rest of the FT Japan crew!

Late lunch, early drinks, nijikai? What time do you have to leave Tokyo?

Haven't made my arrangements yet. There are several flights back to Akita, though, so I can be somewhat flexible.

Ake ome!

I'm back in Japan... and it looks like I will be able to join you chaps on Jan 18!

Or perhaps it would be better to meet for dinner or drinks in the evening before scriel catches his late flight back to Akita? (TY Brewery came to mind - it has the merit of being on the way to Haneda... but not exactly convenient for the rest of us... any other ideas?)

Any thoughts?
