Can I find such a list somewhere?

I have used the search function but didn't find anything.

Here is where you look on the Starwood website for this information (more likely up-to-date than this thread):

https://www.starwoodhotels.com/prefe...spg_terms.html

Look under "5. EARNING STARPOINTS FROM HOTELS" and "6. EARNING STARPOINTS FROM STARWOOD VACATION OWNERSHIP PROPERTIES" for details.

The website for the new St. Regis Ft. Lauderdale, FL (opening in March 2007) states the hotel will not participate in the SPG program.

It's not on the list above, but I'm pretty sure that the Sheraton Casino in Tunica either doesn't participate, or you can't redeem there, or something like that.

Wow. I'm going to Dubai in Feb. and was planning on staying at a *wood property. Don't know how much luck I'll have getting one that participates after looking at that list.

Have no fear, there are still five SPG-participating properties in Dubai:

Sheraton Deira Hotel, Dubai
Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel and Towers
Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort & Towers
Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai
Al Sondos Suites by Le Meridien

I was at the Sheraton Karachi about a year ago and they weren't participating then, either. Has that changed?

Yes. Currently at SPG3.

We're always working on those who could participate, but aren't.

just heard somewhere that Le Meridien is pulling out of SPG completely....is that a fact? if so by when and more importantly why (as i quite like their style)?

Thanks,

It doesn't seem sensible that LM might pull out of SPG. When Starwood bought LM, they converted to SPG from the LM Moments program. I would not think that LM would leave SPG unless Starwood chose to completely rid itself of the LM division. And why would they do that?

From where was this rumor? I personally doubt there's any truth to it.

thanks for th feedback. i think i saw it somewhere on flyertalk or a german board, cant remember though.

Still, what is the motivation for some hotels to not participate? seems a bit odd, no? as if you are on a UA flightnumber, UA operated flight, and still cant collect points/miles for your UA program...

I don't see LM pulling out if Starwood has the final say which I assume they do since they own them. LM was a very nice addition to the program as a great in between group IMO. Westins, while nice, get a bit too standardized for some people. St. Regis and Luxury Collection are over some folks' budget...LM seems to give a nice mix of uniqueness and local flavor in many of the non-US markets...all just from what I have seen in my limited experience.
