i would pay to have some sort of speed pass, but i would like it to work at all airports.

i agree completely. nfw should i have to pay for something that should be sop even for ma 'n pa kettle but remember we're talking about a government (or at least a governmentally related) program and sop in the same sentence which of course is a green light for it to get screwed in every and any way possible .

Except that in initial trials over 50% of users had to take their shoes off anyway. I believe the response from the company running the trial is that they expect travelers enrolled in the program to learn to wear shoes without metal in them.
