Members being bumped by US to higher elite levels (Consolidated thread)

ok, so i posted a couple weeks ago about bizarre gold bonuses showing up on my end of year 2006 flights. well, i checked my account today and notice that i'm now Gold.

Didn't fly 50k last year, haven't flown 50k this year. Confused...but happy. Anyone else get bumped up a level for no reason?

I logged into my account just now and I have suddenly been comp'd to Gold also. Very odd, I'm quite excited about this, I hope it lasts...but for some reason I think that we are experiencing some more website glitches. I suppose that we will just have to see! It isn't everyday that you just pick up a tier of status on an airline!!!

Nope...once a Platinum, always a Platinum. I was hoping I'd be a CP!

My son is Silver, and he is still a Silver as well....

I anticipated that my bizarre gold mileage bonuses from 2006 would be taken away too, and they've been there for about 3 weeks now. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, if this holds, I am going to be very very excited. I have a trip to CDG coming up in April and I would love nothing more than to use a Star Gold lounge to avoid the masses while I wait for my flight

I was bumped to CP today, but was only 230 miles short and still waiting on a couple "Everthing Counts" purchases to post. I guess I (mostly) earned it.

Didn't get the bump, but did have a flight from Tuesday post already, so there is definitely something going on with their DM IT system.

Just checked and I've been bumped to Gold too! I only had 30K EQM for 2006 so I wasn't anywhere near 50K either.

This is a nice surprise but it would be interesting to know the criteria used for the bump. I'd imagine folks who earned GP the old fashioned way might not be too happy with all the added competition

is there a Santa Claus?

well, I'm hoping that whatever computer glitches are bumping people up are still working in our favor when my CP status expires at the end of the month. I've been CP since Sept of 05 but only managed to requalify for Gold based on segments last year. Maybe the DM computer elves will miraculously retain my status or at least make me Plat instead of Gold. I won't hold my breath!

PLEEEEASSE don't deny me the CP phone line! Even though you don't always get the same angels as you used to, its still one of the best CP perks left at this point. sigh . . . ..

Wife and I were very solid Gold the flying way and very close to Plat, hence bumped it myself with some flowers. Wonder what would have happened if I had not done that. Do not expect to be bumped to CP, but as mentioned before, A lot of Gs who earned it flying will not be happy.

Any one aquired silver status, or bumped to Plat?
