Enhanced toothpaste in C

I know it's really sad to have a thread on this topic, but traveling in C LHR-LAX yesterday the C amenity kit included a Rembrandt toothpaste tube that is not only at least four times bigger than the previous tiny version but is also bigger than I ever remember it being before. Mrs 1P's and two other amenity kits also had the same size tube, so this was not an isolated mistake. I'm a fan of the Rembrandt mint flavor toothpaste, so this was a pleasant surprise.

It wasn't like that on LHR-ORD and IAD-LHR last month, so seems to be a new enhancement. I also noticed that the range of colors on the amenity bags is expanding. As well as the black, purple, blue and bronze, green and red are now to be met with.

Or do they just give you a larger tube on flights to/from the West Coast? (I normally break my journey in ORD or IAD.)

I noticed this. I wondered whether it's a result of the new liquids/gels policy?

Good thought- that would kind of make sense.

After reading "enhanced" and "bigger tube of toothpaste" I thought the new SOP was going to be FAs walking around and dispensing toothpaste from a centrally maintained tube from the galley...

Bigger is nice, but does it still have a plastic seal that is impossible to get off? That drives me nuts!

actually, to open the tube, just take off the plastic cap, reverse it, and push it back on--the top has a sharp pointy insert that pierces the seal.

Maybe. Then it would give us extra days to brush our teeth.

Nice to hear. I'm still waiting for the "toothpick enhancement" though

I'm still waiting for the "but SQ doesn't give amenity kits (at least they didn't on LAX-TPE)" comment.

Somehow the Rembrandt toothpaste never leaves my teeth feeling entirely clean... am I the only one?

Spouse doesn't like it... I'm kind of neutral -- would prefer another brand. If we are talking about voicing a choice however... I'll take Coke -- and whatever toothpaste they want to give us.
