Welcome Aboard Pass are over. How well have you done?
With the end of the Welcome Aboard Pass (WAP) today, I looked at how many flights I've done with my 3 days WAP East.
11 segments in all for a grand total of 84$ per segment.
The pass was of great value to me.
What about you?

16 segments for me on the 3 day NA WAP. I found this pass an extremely good value. I never had any problems with availability even though I booked at the last minute many times and the flight ended up being full.
I notice there is a US sample pass now that I will probably pick up.

24 segments @ $50/segment, plus four op/ups, all done at the gate. I may have missed one coming out of PHX where UA was handling the flight and they didn;t seem to be paying attention to staus at all. No problems at all in booking the flights. This is a product I'd happily buy again.

I have done 12 segments on my NA WAP, including one for which I VDB'd. Including one cancellation fee, I ended paying out of pocket $1140.
All of my segments were coast-to-coast, so I got good value.
It is interesting how (save one) no one I talk to was really aware of this pass. Everyone then said it was a great deal.

Western WAP
Used 16 credits at $44.92 per. (only 1 op-up, but several CRJ's and Dash-8's)
From Vancouver, I visited:
- Whitehorse (highly recommended)
- Fort St. John (If you have friends to see there)
- Winnipeg (Good Canadian winter fun!)
- Edmonton (See above)
- Calgary (See Fort St. John above - no offence)
- Victoria (for school and work)
Also did a silly YVR/YEG/YYC/YVR trip on a Saturday morning just for fun (breakfast and lunch in the MLL's too)

YYZ-YUL-YYZ (2); YYZ-YOW-YYZ (2); YYZ-DCA-YYZ (2); YYZ-LGA-YYZ; YYZ-YVR-YCD/YYJ-YVR-YYZ; YYZ-LAX-YYZ; YYZ-SFO-YYZ; YYZ-YYC-YEG-YYZ = 26 flight segments at $800 = $31 a segment or an average of $67 a return trip (hardly covered my bar bill at the MLL!) Would have had another YYZ-LAX-YYZ but flight was cancelled due to weather an hour prior to departure and had to cancel one booked trip due to illness (added another $80+ GST). Final segment tonight for my return from Edmonton.
Had one op/up on a nice A330 between YYZ-YVR (lots of Es flying, as well as SEs so suspect majority of opups on full flights went to SEs) and used one upgrade cert on the red-eye back from SFO (no problem confirming I). Also had no problems with US Immigration when I told the agent I was coming back the same day, not doing business, and listed a museum or art gallery as my "US address". However, on the last trip down there the agent found my passport odd as he'd never seen a 48-page Canadian one before and was convinced it wasn't real...spent quite a bit of time checking the binding and pages! Finally he accepted it, stamped it and didn't baulk when I said I was just headed to SFO for the day...
Since I would have taken two transcon business trips in T+ over the past two months at a cost of about $650 each all-in, the savings there was an immediate $500. And since I couldn't get away for a longer winter vacation this year given project schedule, was able to clear Tuesdays and Saturdays for some nice day-outings...thus saving even more $s.
Curious how many of these AC managed to sell. Given record loads for January and February could have been a lot, though I only came across a couple of others who were traveling on these passes.

didn't end up using mine at all but still got the 6000 status miles ! I still may get to use the 2 extra credits...
Now that I'm spoiled by flying J, I used credits from my Latitude passes instead of the Welcome Aboard pass...
I guess this helps AC average out the yield compared to those who used the pass a lot.

Just about everywhere too I had to explain the pass to people, especially friends I was visited. "So why are you here for 24 hours?", however once I mentioned the price they went @:-) !
Also, on my 3rd trip to the US the border agent in YYZ knew about the pass -- stamped my passport and said "Have a good trip!". Too bad they can't clone him to have more friendly agents.
Now just trying to decide where to go for the free flight in April/May.

My Dad Bought the 3 Day NA WAP and had a great time visiting Florida, Arizona, California twice, Boston and Washington, as well as Vancouver and Northern Quebec.
32 Segments in total, after the flight home today (ROUYN-NORANDA, Montreal, Toronto, Kingston) = Less than $35 per segment!
Since he lives in Kingston every trip involved 4 segments - at least.
I hope to join him if there is ever a similar pass.

I flew 15 segments (+2 Apr/may credits to come) for NA 3-day WAP, ~70CAD/leg. Had fun at each destination: YOW, YQB, DFW, YXY, YVR, LAS, STL, YUL.
The Pass gave me the opportunity to learn
-how big Canada is,
-what many destinations AC fly,
-what few round trips to each local/US destination,
-how each aircraft varies in size, amenity, and evacuation procedures,
-how nice the GAs at customer service centre and MLL generally are during IROPS,
-how inflight sandwich is cheaper than eating at the airport Starbucks,
-what a value the priceline hotel rate and Hertz TGIF rate were,
-how long it took to retrieve baggage once it's delayed,
-that 'weather delay' is quite often an excuse for shortage of gate handlers,
and finally,
-how AC is talented in tickling plane/travel junkies
I've really enjoyed these two months. Kudos to AC!

30 some odd segments on the 3 day NA WAP at under $40/segment after taxes. I must admit, I was pretty satisfied with the product. Like others, I miss the miles -- it would have been a real cheap way to get Elite status.

Some flights booked a couple of hours before departure.
Those 24-30 hour turnarounds when doing transcons are a bit of a killer! But had a great time. Lots of photos and stories to show and tell.
Thank you AC.

39 credits on the 2-day pass, plus 2 non-pass segments to accomplish the following destinations, all from YVR: Victoria, Miami, New York, Toronto, Whitehorse, Yellowknife, Kelowna, Calgary (6 times), Edmonton (2 times), San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sandspit. And on the way home from New York, Montreal and Quebec City.
5 vacation days, 3 cancelled flights, several delays, and lots of missed sleep. Very fun, but I admit I feel a bit of a sense of relief, kind of like coming home after the longest trip ever. I'd certainly buy one again, though.
BTW, yvr72, on your recommendation we checked out the Cantina in Whitehorse and it was open again last Saturday. Quite a cool little place, very cozy, yummy margaritas etc.
