Aussie Value Card

Hi All,

Quickly saw an ad in Bangkok Post for Aussie Value Cards... It suggests one card includes 2 x return Economy flight to MEL or SYD for only THB 23,000.

Sounds too good to be true. This is getting close to Jetstar prices.

Is it really for 2 return trips? Does it include surcharges and taxes?

It said to go to the website for more details but I can't find anything there.

Anyone know more about it?

A good deal at THB 23,000 per card, minimum is a pack of 2 cards, so THB 46,000 for 2 cards in Y BKK to PER/MEL/BNE/SYD.

Available in C for THB 60,000 per card, so a 2 pack will cost 120,000.

Thanks Thai-Kiwi... you are such an expert?

Does the price include taxes and surcharges, I assume it must, otherwise it not such a good deal.

I would guess so since you'll be paying in advance, but the ad in the paper was not detailed enough on the fine print!

Similar promotions last year (domestic Value Card, Value Plus Card for SE Asian destinations) were all inclusive of all taxes and fees, so I assume this one is as well. If I recall, the Value Plus cards booked in W, so only half of the regular mileage was earned, but pax at least got an extra 10 kg of checked luggage.

The cards are for flights ex-BKK, so you'd need to visit a THAI office in Bangkok somewhere. Dunno if TAs will have them.

Hi ThaiFlyer, welcome to FT!

I did check the alternate website (www.thaiairways.co.th), but only bothered to do so in english (browser bookmark) - I should also have checked the Thai language version . Silly me for thinking that the information would be accurately reflected in both languages ...

Cheers, TK

Hi Thai-Kiwi,

There are only 200 Business Packs (400 RT tickets) and 500 Economy Packs (1000 RT tickets) available.(This information is in Thai) If you want to have one, I think you should purchase it now.
