Red-eye CRJ Flights Have Arrived Upon Us!

Looks like one of the very first nearly trans-con redeye RJ flights is loaded onto the summer schedule... although at least it is a CRJ900.

TUS-ATL (Aug 10th, for example) Lv TUS 1115 PM arrive ATL 601AM CRJ900 operated by SkyWest. The flight number is a bit odd for an RJ connection flight DL 1977 elapsed time of 3H 45M

At least you can sleep through most of the pain.

PS Summer schedule starts June 7.

Hmm. I'm flying that route in June, and my flight (both ways) was changed from a 737 to a 757. Interesting. It departs TUS at 7:30 AM, though.

I flew that once and that was enough. The first segment was full and it always felt crowded. Cvg looked good at the end of that trip.

I don't think it is as bad as CO's PHX-IAH redeye in an ERJ . I believe it's seasonal but what a pain in the rear that one must be

If you're in one of the 10 F seats on the CRJ900 that will be operating the flight discussed in the OP, it might not be too hard. If you're stuck in Y, who knows?

Is that fuel stop in TUL on their way from LAS-CVG via TUL. It is not enough range to reached in CVG on CRJ-700. I think CRJ-900 does have more range to reach in CVG. Is that good enough?

Yes, it was only for seasonal flight during in the summer. It does not have all year-round from PHX-IAH for redeye.

A red-eye on a CRJ900 should really be no different than a red-eye on say a 738? The pitch on the 900 in Y is pretty generous for now.

Well, yes, they had to stop for fuel but it was a scheduled "direct" flight. The way "direct" flights were supposed to be. I doubt, however, that many people were climbing on board for the 4 AM TUL-CVG segment. However, I am sure there were some people getting off in Tulsa as previously pointed out. I never stepped foot on this plane but I did see it on the tarmac at LAS a couple of times.
