EL Cortez $11-15 night all-in

El Cortez 2* in Las Vegas (I had problems getting this hotel on Orbitz.com when using Safari/Mac unless I searched by name. IE/PC was ok.)

Sun 5/13 - Wed 5/16 $32.76 all-in
Sun 5/20 - Wed 5/23 $44.38 all-in
Sun 7/8 - Wed 7/11 $21.15 all-in (5-day 7/8-7/13 is $42.30 all-in)
5-day 7/15-7/20 is $42.30 all-in

$5 free play (Try a 1-2-4 or 1-3-7 progression on slot BJ) and $5 food discount with sign-up at club (In Jan 2007, there was a once every 14-day limit on the free play).

P.S. 5/23 and 5/24 are currently very empty days in Vegas, so Harrah's sent me a BINGO special for 2 free days.

ORBDOT75 takes $75 off a 3-night Hotel + Airfare stay. I found this thread on FatWallet http://www.fatwallet.com/t/63/719389/ I have verified that the code works. From LAX-LAS, I have found a number of dates (Sunday, Monday or Tuesday departure for a 3-night stay) as low as $102 for hotel and airfare including all taxes/fees at the El Cortez Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

EDIT: Good news. The promo code is valid thru 12/31/2007 for travel thru 3/15/2008. When you enter the promo code at Orbitz, click on a package it is good with and you'll see those details under this Special Offer rules.

I've never used Orbitz before. Are these prepaid rates that are non-refundable?

Definitely prepaid, but I got the cancellation policy prominently in the screens and reservations printouts saying $25 until 3 days out, then a day's stay, then the whole enchilada if you don't cancel before the day of arrival. If they don't intend to honor that after specifying it so prominently on the reservation printout & screens they'll have some unhappy campers.

Definitely not a Nevada wow rate, but with MEGA50 I got 4 nights at Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel in the middle of Waikiki in the middle of May for $245.47 all-in, or appx. $61/night. Would take $52 bid or below on Priceline to beat. A 5 nighter with MEGA100 is $292. Waikiki hotel rates have gotten pretty brutal in the last year or so.

This might be OT, but I almost booked the El Cortez for Memorial day (Sun-Wed), even though it would have been about $80 all in - Sunday was expensive being the holiday weekend, but better than everything else around. I also have a $30 first night, free second night coupon from the Las Vegas Advisor. I called expecting them to be blacked out, but they did accept it so I got two nights for $30 (plus tax I assume). I did not really need the third night as I am leaving on the redeye Tues night, but would have taken it if free.

Is the El Co the only one with the third night free deal?

Brutal would be a better name for the Aloha Surf. I stayed there 4/8 - 4/13 and booked directly with the hotel for $67/night. Good deal right ? Wait until the jackhammers start going off all day long. They are renovating the lanai's on all floors and according to them they will be at it for at least the next month. I started out on floor three and complained enough that they moved me to the top (15th) floor and believe me it wasn't any better. On the other hand if you're at the beach all day you wouldn't even know it was going on. I just happened to need a couple of days in my room to get some work done. Oh and forget about any sleep after 8:00 AM. One of the things that ticked me the most was that there was no mention of any construction when I booked and there is nothing posted on their website. Now for the real good one. I just found out there was a $178.01 unauthorized charge on my credit card over and above all the legitimate charges. When I called to find what that was all about they said two bathrobes were missing from my room when they did inventory. This issue is still on going and has yet to be resolved. Yeah my word against theirs. I guess we'll find out how customer oriented they are.
