Nice! Thanks for the link.
Seems like they're planning on flights to/from OAK/ORD in US.

Not a clue. Since Oasis is rather low on the aviation news radar, you pretty much have to wait until you get some announcement from their website's media centre. I would GUESS around $1000 USD or a bit less for a one-way fare.

I would bet it will be around USD300 instead.

This was in our local news:

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?sec...cal&id=5139249

IIRC, the paperwork got tied up a little bit, so there was a delay. Based on the article, it sounds more like Fall than July.

If they really want to be an LCC, it needs to be less than $1000/rt. F/C shows fares below this currently. I think Fokker's guess is pretty good.

Although, what we're trying to figure out here is.... what facilities?! Is Oakland seriously planning to do this out of Gate 1?

Sorry, I was giving an estimate on their fantastic business class fares, which from London is $6600 HKD one-way or $10,800 HKD roundtrip.

I am really curious to see what the fares are. I hope that Oasis has been able to work out a deal with OAK in regards to taxes/airport charges. I hope that in the summer their fares will be at/near 500-600 RT. Then I'd seriously consider taking them over the majors. Over the winter, most of the airlines I take have fares to Asia for less than 700ai, and I do accrue miles.

I'd love for them to release some ubercheap intro fares from YVR but the Canadian taxes are usually a deal-killer...

A stated above, just look at what they're doing out of London where taxes are also somewhat punative. £75 (that's under C$200) one way in Y, £470 one way in J, plus taxes of £75-115 depending on class of travel.
