What's the madness behind the method?

The FA didn't really have an answer for me on this last night, so here goes.

ATL-PHX on a 757 has a meal in first. Distance is 1587 miles.

However, SLC-CMH on a MD90 does not. Distance is 1529 miles. (late evening flight)

When I asked the FA she sort of just shrugged her shoulders instead of saying (what I expected her to say) "MD's don't have meal service capabilities."

I've got a few East Coast only flights booked through June but I need to set up about 3-4 trips to the West Coast through August and I'd like to know what I'm getting myself in to.

SON OF A *^&#@!!!

I could have absolutely swore it was 1250 miles. Thanks for that link. I'm going to sniff around the DL site more as it hands down seems to have more info on it than my previous carriers.

MD's do have meal service capabilities. I flew one to Portland or something last year that had meal service, but of course no IFE..

I haven't been on one in years, but IIRC, the MD-90s (mostly service routes out of SLC) have IFE. I think the last one I was on was when DCA-DFW was serviced with one.

Yeah, the MD-90s have the drop down screens, similar to the 738. Not the most exciting IFE ever, but it's better than nothing.
