18 Month Activity Rule for my kids

We have not taken the kids on a plane since last June 06, as we have traveled close to home with them. My kids are coming up the 18 month rule for their accounts. They are just short of 25000. Can I order something from skymall in their account and pay for it? Any other options? Is the best bet buying miles for their accounts? The cost ratio is not great, but better than losing 22000+ miles?

Thanks All

Yes, you just need any activity. Choices are here:

This might work for you

I switched my preferences on my Priority Club account to drop a few air miles into my daughter's US Air account for one stay. Of course I do stay at PC properties once a week or more. Hilton Honors has a way to put points directly into US Air too.

The other option is buying someone flowers, always welcome by any female family member

erewards also has options to deposit into US Airways. They send me a few surveys a week, sometimes I do them, and over about 6 months I accumulate enough miles to keep my 'other' airline FF accounts active.

My 3 and 8 year-old now own 2 iTunes each (to avoid any issues with $0.99 being less than $1) and now have last activity dates on their statements of 5/30/07.

If you're facing a close expiration date, I wouldn't risk the previously mentioned options as they can take weeks to post. Miles purchased from US post at lot quicker.

True on the weeks to post, but with a June 06 last travel date, I think even US can manage to credit miles in 5 months. Mine took about 2 weeks.
