I find this list extremely humorous. I sometimes have to wonder who actually votes in Tripadvisor Polls. The Ginn Reunion Resort... That sounds like a really luxurious place.

There's plenty of humor to be found in TripAdvisor. Top rated hotel on the island of Oahu - Halekulani? JW Marriott? Kahala Resort? No, it's the Aqua Ocean Tower (the small building behind Marriott, used to be its Mauka Tower). Hahahahaha.

Clearly explains why TripAdvisor recommendations have to be taken with a very large grain of salt.

Omni San Francisco, right up there with the best in the world, right? NOT!

I am writing this from a nice suite in the Trump at Columbus Circle in NYC. Better hurry over to the Sofitel and see what I am missing!

I got a message from tripadvisor 'advising' me of the top ten 'luxury' hotels in the world which included at number 7, the Killarney Park Hotel, Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland.
This hotel would not pass for the best hotel in Killarney, never mind Ireland .
This must be an advertisement feature .

This list says something about the judgement and taste of those who submitted votes. None of the 10 would make my list of best 4* hotels

Didn't we all discuss this at length last year when TripAdvisor's lists came out? If I recall correctly, a Hilton was rated single best luxury hotel in the world.

You people read my mind

I love it when tripadvisors top pick for a city is no where even geographically close to that city. Puerto Vallarta had one hotel listed in the top 5 that is located just north of Manzanillo. I wrote them and said please look at the map. They wrote me back a begrudging letter that said I was correct. They then modified the site. I do like their tongue and cheek attitude at times. There is the only site I can get any kind of photos or information about certain hotels such as my up coming trip in Madagascar.

Love or don't they have their place...but it is not to be believed regarding luxury obviously.

It's interesting that an embassy suites would be up there.

Also not a single starwood despite the W's and St. Regises.

I am a little confused why the Venetian or Bellagio isn't on that list, whoever made that list obviously never set foot in any room at V over 1000 sq ft.

That's a pretty sad list. I no longer have any respect for Trip Advisor.

As ijkh stated, Tripadvisor is good for pictures, but not for opinions. That list is quite funny.
