(PS: please don't flame me if the announcement is delayed until WED/THU/FRI, this is the aviation industry you realise )
WX is a foe of the aviation industry but hopefully it will be good and the scheduled announcements take-off on-time.

That 76 has been the speculation of many websites and I think by now we have to believe it. I'm not so sure I like the idea as posted in relation to AC and their 3D logo. My spacial abilities are bad enough seeing double (as many a WP and QP member will relate) let alone a three dimensional Kangaroo lurching for us as we try to board.

Thank heavens (and Mother) that we no longer board via the rear stairs.

Thanks for the info QF NB

From SYD airport arrivals/departures page:

Code:
QF6110 Richmond 22/07/2007
9:30pm 22/07/2007
9:30pm -na-
Appears VH-OGD is due back at SYD tonight, hopefully with the new look.

Guess we won't be seeing photos then

Thread "stickied" for the time being. We might ask if QF WP could add it to the The ULTIMATE Qantas Guide at some stage?

Sure is OJD... touched down in SYD tonight.

It is sporting the NEW c/s and Domestic interior.

Also NB you missed the new TV screens that are appearing in the domestic fleet. One Ex-BA aircraft has them already!

Cheers

I have been on the ex BA bird with the LCD's a few times but am always distracted by how shabby the rest of the cabin is to notice the new LCD's which have replaced the CRT screens throughout.

I am looking forward to the new premium economy product. Here is hoping it is rolled out across the long haul fleet.

Any updates yet as to a delivery date for the first A380 and will it do some short haul routes before being put to work?

Just a few updates/correction to QF NBs' very informative post

Just flew on VH-OJT to Hong Kong and First Class has the new carpet. It's a dark blue and very soft unlike the current carpet. Unfortunately the rest of First Class didn't have the new fabrics so the carpet looked a little strange with it.

Can confirm that this is all correct and am not aware of any reason why this shouldn't be going ahead on the 25th. To further elaborate the new glasses are stemless (like Singapore Airlines Y wine glass but a tad larger) The new cutlery is like the new F & J cutlery but all plastic and slightly smaller.

This is on all Trans Tasman services not just 767 services.

Much appreciated eoinnz. I know I can trust you to get the right information! Reliable as always

Seems -OJT was at Avalon for over a month recently and has been back in service for about 2 weeks. Must have only planned to upgrade carpets and complete the maintenance.

It's odd that you say the new features will be available on all trans-Tasman flights. It's news to ZK-JTP and he hadn't heard anything prior to today, so that's why I presumed that the new soft product would only be available on TT 767 services. Thanks for clearing the matter up though!

Thanks QF Attendant. I look forward to seeing the new fabrics after having just seen the full livery... it's sooooo shiney! ^ BTW - nice to see you posting finally!

Tomorrow's going to be a big day!

Cheers

I saw a news article today from AAP (that I can't find when I look now) that confirmed quite a few of the details here.

Fully Flat Skybed Mark II.
New Seats for Economy.

All to be revealed tomorrow (If I recall the article properly). Searching around for it now!

My welcome to you as well QF Attendant. Is your presence here on FT in an official capacity?

I like the new roo and not having the legs cut off by the rudder flaps makes it more symmetrical or complete. I heard or read that the underbellies of the planes will be red with QANTAS written on it - is that correct?

eoinnz

It does sound strange to have a partially refurbished cabin running around. Perhaps there were supply issues or a/c equipment shortages that forced it back into service prematurely.

Anyway, I'm with QF NB here and look forward to a big and interesting day for QF tomorrow.

Thanks QF NB for this thread and eoinnz and other for this update. Nice to see that things are improving and not being enhanced away. I now need to get my hand on one of those PJs with the old QF roo on it before it disappears .
