NYC: Holiday Soup DO with the SanDiego1K's: Friday, Dec 21
The beautiful and talented San Diego 1K and her talented wonderful Husband are coming to the Big Apple to spend part of the holidays there and have suggested meeting with some Flyertalk friends for a:
Holiday Soup Do!!!!
Date: Friday, December 21
*****Time: 2pm**** IT's so we beat the lunch and holiday shopper crowds.
The place (of course La Bonne Soupe at 48 West 55th Street
We have a reservation for a PARTY OF 20 but that can be adjusted easily enough. WOW! Almost two dozen people for soup!
Here's their website: http://www.labonnesoupe.com/LesBonnesSoupes.php
The Honored Guest List:
Mr. & Mrs. San Diego (the special guests)
Catman (Le Hoste) and just me at the moment
dhammer (making his FIRST SOup Do appearance, finally! )
flyerwife (who has been here before but not a Soup DO!)
ljp99 (Alley Cat and first time Souper I believe)
Analise (Alley cat and First Soup DO!!!)
Cordelli (anotehr first timer I believe)
BroadwayBoy (first F-T Do ever!)
stockmanjr (repeat Souper)
bk3day (another repeat Souper)
scflier and Mrs. scflier (first timer Soupers)
Sunnyhere (yet another first time Souper, representing the Las Vegas FT-ers!)
AL CARLOS (first timer Soup Do-er)
cpx (another Alley Cat!)
tkey75 (another first time SOuper!)
PAWS CROSSED they can make it:
Benjamin NYC
Mary Sunshine
The NWA Kid
Will be toasted with soup spoons:
belle3388
Idsant (who I'll find a Mister Softee truck to have some Pineapple sundaes for)
mary2e (stuck at work but hoping for a holiday miracle)
Mr. Key
GrizShirl plus one
Dugernaut
Abelscc (repeat Souper who we miss by a few days!)
janaz
Mileage Addict (that work gets in the way! )
Going Away
civicmon
PHLFlyer
Betty Kat
If you haven't tried La Bonne Soupe it's a great meal at a great price. Plus soup will be appropriate being it's December and hopefully a little cool.
It will be a nice break for me from a record holiday weekend in Cat sitting land. I got completely booked in JulY!!!!
See ya in a few months!

This is the perfect addition to our pre Christmas visit to NYC. We're coming thanks to the Parker Meridien $79 room rate. Nothing says NY to me better than Catman and his Soup Dos. I'm already contemplating whether it should be soup - or fondue - on a cold December day.
Thanks for organizing this, Catman!

I am booked at the Le Parker Meridien for that Friday, too. However, I can't make it to NYC from Germany for lunch.
However, if the gang can decide on something for the evening or for Saturday, I would be more than happy to join the party

I am so there.
It was suggested to me by SanDiego1k (who knows about my sweet tooth) that we have desert at Serendipity. Can you say frozen chocolate. ^ This place is famous for their frozen chocolate (and the long holiday lines to get in). It's kitschy, but still worth it.
Frrrozen Hot Chocolate 8.50 < their spelling. Enough for 2 to share, but why.
Menu here http://www.serendipity3.com/food.htm
Pay special attention to the desert menu.
Catman, looks like my first Souper Do! Finally.

List has been updated and I'm so happy we're already getting responses.
I'm going to work on getting our private, secret room like we had for SOup DO 3.
BroadwayBoy... you picked a nice event for your first F-T outing. Mega Do's are OK but the smaller events allow everyone to talk and get to know each other.
Don't know if I can do Serendipity but if we can't get in there's always Mister Softee!
Have a MEOWY Weekend!

the_happiness_store, it was a deal that came and went a few weekends ago. I learned about it in the Hotel Deals forum on FT.

Now we hvae the makings of a specail F-T event! Mileage Addict... I don't think La Bonne Soupe has beer but they have nice wine and PEPSI
We also may have teh makings of a "official" DO! The San Diego 1K's are worth of DO status
