My Int'l fare has gone down...refund?
I purchased a ticket on NWA for travel in Nov. to LGW. Looked online tonight and airfare has gone down $117. Called the silver elite line, agent told me that I dont get a refund or voucher because the change fee is $200. Does this sound right? I thought they would give a refund for most of it. Thx

EDIT: Change fees can be found in the rules for the fare ticketed.

I thought the rule was if the fare went down a voucher could be requested. If the fare goes down over the change fee amount a credit back to the original purchase could be received minus the change fee or a voucher for the entire difference.
If the rule is quoted as above the airline is doing nothing; they really do not have to. You can always use an unsed ticket for payment of another ticket. In this case you are just rebuying your own ticket routing.

Isn't the fee for repricing tickets (with no other changes) that dropped in price $50?

I think that's changed, and more internationally than domestically. The rules for the specific fare should be checked by anyone who has had the fare drop, that should be the best info.

You do not have to pay the change fee if it is the exact same flight/ class, etc. There is a $50 administration fee. The remainder you will get as an MCO. Keep calling back until you get the answer you want.
I just went through this a couple of weeks ago.
Also, look at this thread.

For International, the fare rules generally apply the entire change fee (usually $200) before issuing an MCO on a fare drop. For domestic, the fare rules often specify a separate $50 administrative charge when issuing an MCO on a fare drop which is less than the change fee (usually $100, but sometimes less depending on the competition. I.e., the change fee for DTW-FLL flights is $70 due to Spirit competition).

NW scoop -- if this is true -- can you please explain why there isn't the same $50 admin fee for international NW tickets?

Maybe, but it was the first person I talked to. So I would definatley try again if I got denied.
I couldn't find anything for "international" contract of carriage, either. The only mention of the fee was in the "domestic" for $50.
