Arrow Coast-to-Coast MEGA DO RUN! MLK Weekend 2008: 1/18 LAX | 1/19 IAD | 1/20 IAD & LAX

alliance and lucky9876coins are happy to announce a MLK 2008 weekend MEGA DO-RUN extravaganza with at least 6 events spanning both coasts including 2 UA in-flight DOs:

Event #1: Dinner @ LAX 1/18/ - Encounter 8pm
Event #2: In-Flight DO #1: LAX-IAD 1/19/2008
Event #3: Dinner @ IAD 1/19/2008 - Clyde's Willow Creek Farm - 8:30pm
Event #4: Lunch @ IAD 1/20/2008 - The Bungalow - Noon - FOLLOWED by a visit to the National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
Event #5: In-Flight DO #2: IAD-LAX 1/20/2008
Event #6: IN-N-OUT RUN @ LAX 1/20/2008 - ~8:45pm (the in-flight DO is scheduled to land at 8:22pm)

You don’t have to join us for everything, but please join us for as many events as you can!

Special thanks to PTravel for providing local LAX support and dcgators for providing local IAD support.

Of course we have to get coast-to-coast to make our MEGA DO-RUN! For the two in-flight DOs, at least 17 of us are flying on UA intl 777s for both flights, and most of us are already confirmed in business class.

Even if you can't join us for the in-flight DOs, please try and join us for some of the dinners.

I highly recommend the Embassy Suites near IAD over the Hilton. They're both Hilton chain hotels, around the same price (the ES is usually a few dollars cheaper), but the ES is much nicer. Plus, they have free drinks at their happy hour (5:30-7:00 every day).

Outstanding! I will check on the rates, but that sounds like the way to go.

ditto.

as for me....

event 1: it depends on leaving work in sfo
event 2: seat 14b (who who's next to me?)
event 3: please add goalie-sis as she lives in dc
event 4: please add goalie-sis
event 5: seat 14b
event 6: it all depends if i overnight at lax or go right back to sfo that night.

this is gonna be a blast tho i might not hotel it at iad as even tho i am older and bigger than goalie-sis, her military training (aka my health an well being ) might entice me to stay at her place in alexandria. she has also offered to review/rate/and otherwise opine (hey, i like that word) on any of the eating, drinking and touring places that will come up as suggestions.

Wow, two weeks ago we paid $94 AAA. Keep checking, it's likely to drop as it gets closer. Though maybe that's just their holiday rate.

I stayed at the ES and it was very nice, although the Hilton Executive Lounge may make up for the bennies. Also, the ES offers free internet for all HH members.
