Already discussed here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=756601 although admittedly the thread title is a little vague.
Crazy, crazy - they give us three months of quadruple points and then offer to buy your points off you for almost 1 cent each!
Some people on this board will be having a VERY happy Christmas .....!

$250 = 29,500 points in the sale
So would it sensible to rate a 30k IC redemption as less valuable than $ 250 on the card....??

It's definitely better than I typically value the PC points this time of year - I usually go with about 150 points/ $1 for redemption ($.67 for 100 pts), but the $250 card looks like it's 118 points/ $1 ($.84 for 100 pts.). I don't know if it would be better when the rates go up (i.e. not winter) but I'm pretty happy with this.

do you earn points /stays?
If using/redeeming the anywhere any hotel ax card do most hotel chains count the stay as a "paid stay" for miles/stay count, or what ever other perks they are offering?

With the quad and Visa promos and plat bonus I've been receiving a total of 5150 PC points per one-night stay at a $70/night HIE, if I redeem for these Amex cards during the promo - and I'm almost certain that I will - in effect I'd be receiving a $43.26 cash rebate for each of those one-night stays. Sweet!

It's Working!
"Half off" is now showing for US redemptions, too.
Thanks, OP! I missed the previous thread. I also noted that the larger the dollar amount, the better the rate, even before the 1/2 off sale. WHEE!!

Before redeeming for a low value card, think about buying some extra points - it may be worthwhile.
For example ... I have (with a small top-up from my Amex card) 19,000 points in one account. That is worth £75.
For around £98, I can buy 22,000 PC points (20k + the 10% bonus promo which is running for an extra couple of weeks).
That gets me to 41,000 points, which I can redeem for a £200 card. I get £125 extra back in return for spending £98 - so a £27 profit from 10 minutes work.
