FANTASTIC agents at IAD RCC:

OK, if you have been keeping score at home, flyinryan is in the middle of a mileage run to LHR and back.
Yesterday, while waiting in the C17 RCC, I asked the agent, a lovely young lady named Nikida, if she could print out my return itin on UA stock so I could show it to the security people at LHR. I had no expectation at all of getting BPs for the return portion of my itin, since the flights originated in another country the next day. She pulls up the PNR, and gives me this funny look. I knew what was coming, and explained what I was doing. She laughed and said "Oh, that sounds like fun," and asked for my passport. Then she prints out all my BP's for the next day's flights. ^^
Today, on my way back, the weather at ORD is still lousy, of course. I went to see Susie at the C7 RCC, and asked about alternative routings. We agreed that since everything was still showing "on time," we would just let it all alone for the time being.
DING
My crackberry pings - EasyUpdate now shows my IAD-ORD has been delayed 70 minutes. I go straight back to Susie - she is waiting for me, and has my new itin ready to go. Instead of IAD-ORD-LAX-SFO, it's now IAD-ORD-SFO, and she confirmed it all in F. ^^
A little while later, she comes into the club, where I am hacking away here on FT by the window, and says "Hi, Mr. Flyinryan, I was looking at some of your flights, and the crew for 395 (to ORD) is on another delayed flight...so I protected you in F for a later ORD-SFO." She hands me the DMC for it.

I mean, WOW! How nice is that! Not only is she looking out for me, but she actually came looking for me!!

I gave out my last GTEM form on IAD-LHR last night, so I am going straight to .bomb to give a glowing write up to both of these wonderful employees!

And to think the IAD RCC has suffered from such horrible PR on this board. Well, I am here to tell you, yesterday and today it has been nothing short of awesome. :-: x 5

Amazing contrast to the bartender that was asleep behind the bar at 9:30 this morning at the IAD D8 RCC

Update

Susie just came to find me again (!) to say that 395 will now be using a different cockpit crew, and should leave at the new time of 4:15.
I just love that she is actually walking over to me to keep me informed! I mean, this place is pretty full, Sunday afternoon, and she is paying special attention to little ol' flyinryan, nothing more than a harmless little ball of fuzz.

We may have you to thank for that.

Drink chits were plentiful as well. Didn't even have to ask.

I had a good experience in C17 yesterday when I needed a new ticket because I missed my flight by 10 minutes. It took only a minute for me to get a new ticket. Hopefully, this will continue.

Off topic, I was wondering if anyone can confirm that the elevator in the RCC by the D gates is fixed. Yesterday, it was broken, and I was told that they were repairing it for the whole day.

I, too, had a GTEM experience at C7 this week. Despite only two at the desk to handle entries, reservations, and unique issues like mine that took a lot of time and effort, EP really went out of her way to help me.

It's nice to hear such good things about the RCC. It really makes me consider a membership for next year.

Thumbs up

If I didn't know that flyinryan is extremely credible, I would've thought this post was about 4 months early. Glad to hear things have changed at IAD, especially as I've got some upcoming flights through there and will be spending time in the RCCs.
