Had no idea - Tamarii Moorea was a nice place for a drink or meal, though the Residence Linareva has sadly gone downhill (my sister bailed on the roaches) and maintenance has suffered - maybe for the floating Linareva restaurant and bar also. Which reminds me to correct my previous post...

No...I will have to get myself to JFK for the departure.

I will probably pack light (carry-on only), and get off in LA on the return.

Excellent. Was there any specific discount code mentioned when you booked your ticket? Or was the agent able to pull up the discount easily enough? Thanks.

BTW, the link is from the AA Uruguay website.

This way I have the seats I wanted and then we can sort out the mileage requirements later. If it remains at the current 75,000, I can just cancel, otherwise, I scored us two cool seats to PPT....

Won't you have to do customs at LAX anyway (or is there an option to stay on the plane)? If you have to do customs, don't you need to collect your checked bags and (if continuing) recheck them anyhow? In which case the ease of getitng off at LAX wouldn't depend on being carry-on only (any more than normal ).

This doesn't make much sense for us living in Nebraska and the need for a $300 ticket to JFK, but keep in mind Air Tahiti Nui does offer cash upgrades to J and F, so keep an eye out. I can't remember how much, but Im sure a quick search would yield the ranges.

Good catch!

Great catch, OP! It seems that most agents are now aware of this deal. I just got off the phone with the EXP desk which booked my wife and I for the end of April with no hitches at all. Taxes are $51.60 pp, by the way.

Now, to find a good deal on hotels...where's GLEFF when you need him?! Oh, and let's hope the Mrs. can get time off...

We'll do the same.

Tahiti experts, I'm reading that February is rainy season. Does this mean a combo of heavy downpours and sunshine (like the Caribbean) or are we talking rain for days at a strech?

The promo is in the system. Just make sure you specify the airline as Air Tahiti.

By the way, the reservations agent was really shocked to see this great deal being offered.

You would not have a problem checking luggage-you will have to claim it on arrival at LAX to clear customs-just don't put it on the recheck belt after exiting.

Availability tool?

Is there an availability tool for TN award?
Or the only way is to call AA and try and error?

With all due respect.....it seems that there is a code.

you don't need to say any code - just say I want to go from JFK-PPT on TN and it will pop up with 30k mi.
