61 stranded at Airport without explanation
[Quote:]
WHAT should have been a routine two-hour flight to Phuket turned out to one that took more than seven hours, including a five-hour delay, for some 61 passengers on Saturday.
They were among 151 passengers who had turned up at Changi Airport's Budget Terminal to catch budget airline Tiger Airways flight TR152 to the Thai destination at 8.15am.
But when it was time to board the plane, only the first 90 passengers were allowed to do so.

Singapore_Air I think that you missed the
at the end of my question!
But I'll play on regardless...
So when TerryKsees a thread with OT in the title, should he expect the content of the thread to have anything to do with the chosen topic of the forum (i.e. Singapore Airlines in this instance)?

Tiger airways is 49% owned by SQ but i believe a minority stake is held by temasek holdings. This means that practically, both Tiger and SQ are owned by the same ultimate entity.Jetstar asia, the other SG based LCC is also practically controlled by Temasek holdings.
Comparatively, if the service standard of an associate like Tiger comes short, it is logical to deduce that it may flow onto SQ with already many many shortcomings highlighted on this forum. This includes the famous "enhancement" to the PPS programme.
would you be comfortable paying sgd25,000 for a programme that is now sub-standard? or sgd19,000 for F on any of the present 744 aircraft routes with such service?

I was on this flight
I do not want to get embroiled in what is or is not OT, but thought I would add a little extra. It was a fiasco. Wife and I were two of the lucky 90 that got to fly. There was a problem with the exit lighting and pax were not allowed to be seated in rows 5-18. Unfortunately Tiger had loaded all the luggage for the plane load. All the luggage had to be off loaded and the flying pax picked theirs out and it was reloaded. We sat on the plane for 2 hours waiting then had to pay several SGD for a small bottle of water. Our return flight HKT/SIN was delayed 3 hours. The Capt. stated the delay was because the original plane they provided in SIN was not servicable and he refused to fly it. He had to wait for another plane to arrive. Probably my last experience with Tiger Air!
