GargoyleDo (ORD) May 3-4, 2008

I'll be giving a stone carving demonstration and explaining about the art and craft of stone carving on Sunday, May 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lizzadro Museum in Elmhurst, IL. This is part of the Elmhurst Art in the Park Festival in Wilder Park.
My sculptures are on exhibit in the Lizzadro Museum through May 25th.

220 Cottage Hill, Elmhurst, IL
(in Wilder Park)

On Sat. afternoon, May 3, after 3 p.m. we can gather at the Casa del Gargoyle (located between Elgin and St. Charles) for food, drinks, tall tales and a tour of my studio. (and a tour of our fen and creek). Bring anything edible and potable you wish, especially Biscoffs and Sun Chips. Perhaps we can gather back at the Gargoyle Estates after the show Sunday, just for tea and Biscoffs.
No go on Elgin Tracon; tours are limited to people employed in the aviation field. From original announcement:
My home and studio is less than 5 miles from Elgin Tracon (ORD ATC). I’ve submitted a request for a private tour; I don’t know if they will grant it. If they do, the number of participants will be limited. I’m hoping they will do this on Saturday, but they might only give tours on weekdays; if that is the case, let me know if any of you would be available for Friday May 2nd or Monday the 5th.

I'm not arranging. I'm trying to get someone who knows something about the area to help with the Sunday dinner.

We certainly will be there for everything and on Saturday all day and evening, it is most likely that we will be accompanied by szg, who is spending that weekend in Chicago.

Does DL have a snack basket on the Shuttle America flights from LGA? I took them once last year and don't recall. And would the FAs on those flights be as amenable to our filling up a shopping bag with Biscoffs and Sun Chips as would be many of the DL mainline FAs?

Easier to fill the shopping bag in the lounges.

The Fisher Peanut factory outlet is in Elgin, a couple miles the other side of the TRACON, if I pass by before then I'll try to get a bag of day-old nuts.

There's no CRC at the Marine Air Terminal.

It looks like we are consigned to supplying some adult beverages.

Mrs. Cornroaster and I are interested, although she is scheduled to work that weekend. She will try to switch with someone else at the hospital.

The nice thing about Chicago, if you don't like the weather just wait an hour. It will change.

As you probably know, we only have two seasons here- Winter and Road Construction. And after this winter, the Road Construction season will be brutal.

I consider delegating to be a higher form of arranging.

As long as "Ditka" isn't in the name of the place, I'm open to almost anything.
