Lightbulb Which 747 on TG923 FRA-BKK ?

I know this is a tricky question:

I will be flying with my family on TG923 on August 3rd (J class).

How can I know if the old or new business class configuration will be used on that flight ?

Thank you for your help.

Regards

It is the new C seat. As always subject to last minute equipment change.

Thank you. However, I know that TG is known for having a lot of equipment changes. Is it also true for their "king destinations", such as FRA, LHR or CDG?

It happens to all destination. however not as often on LHR & FRA as on CDG or MUC. Still if you wanna be 100% sure to get a flat seat you have to book LH ex FRA.

You should be safer with FRA than with MUC. The later sees a clapped out 7442 sometimes ...

You should be pretty safe ex FRA or LHR, but last minute equipment changes do happen on these routes too... You need to keep your fingers crossed and if it happens be sure to ask for compensation

Cheers

If I saw that it is a 7442 with old J seats, I would ask to be offloaded and make alternative arrangements ex-FRA.

I always had the new configuration so far between FRA and BKK, never been disappointed.

I never tried TG's business class on intercontinental flights. How is TG's business class in that new configuration compared to LH's business class? Are the seats as good or maybe a little better?

I actually prefer the TG C seat compared to the LH seat. TG has less of an incline IMHO. (less slopey)
AVOD is better on TG too. Food & drink better on LH.

Does anyone have the registrations for the 7443`s in TG fleet?? Is it the six youngest A/C that has not been upgraded to 7443??

I know that their newest HS-TGG is still a 7442

Cheers

Yes, the 12 older aircrafts are retrofitted.

Rumor is that the 6 7442 will get significant upgrade anyway. Maybe it'll be upgraded to the same product as in the upcoming A380s. Nobody can confirm but this is what I heard.

The 8 new A330 is also rumored to get the same biz seat as in 772ER and AVOD in all seats in C & Y.

SPK ,

Any info on the progres of the 777-300 retrofit ?
It started more than 1 year ago, and to date only 2 of the 6 planes have been retrofitted....

We travelled BKK to FRA 3 weeks ago on the FRA morning arrival and it was new J class.

Travelling J class FCO to MEL in a couple of days time and hope for new 7443config also on FCO-BKK sector!

I`m flying FRA-BKK-FRA on TG923 and TG920 in Oct/Nov in F and I will be crossing my fingers for an old dog then

It should be interesting to see what TG does with their newest 747`s when their 380`s arrive. They have ordered 6 380`s and have 6 7472`s... Might there be plans to sell them??

Any rumors on which routes they will use the new 330`s and when is the first new one arriving?

Thanks spk and BHIL for confiming my thoughts on the 7472`s ^

Cheers
